Dead battery I have a 1990 Mercedes ML320, and my batter dies as soon as I turn off the car. I have to jump it every time I want to drive it. When I turn the key nothing happens at all.

Hi Kerry, 2 reasons your battery (flat) isn't charging, You have a faulty battery or you have a faulty alternator... If you can drive your car for at least ten minutes after you jump start your flat battery but can't start it after you turned the motor off then it's the battery, If you jump start your flat battery and the motor dies when you try driving then it's the alternator.... You can get a mechanic or an auto electrician to test both usually Free of charge if you can get it there....CHEERS..

I have to ask - since you didn't include any other info - do any lights work? If not - you may have a dead battery. You can attempt to jump the car or put a charger on the battery. Once started, you should drive the car w/ minimal accessories on (if jumped to start) to allow the battery to charge. You should have the batter checked for possible replacement or service very soon. might be due to the battery being bad and may need replacement but if the battery is holding a charge then it might be due to a short out in some place

Hello my MB ML320 wont start, only start if I jump it,i change battery but I have same problem it start if I drive for long time but if is park for more than 5 hours it wont start.

This sounds like an easy fix. I would locate the fuse that is for your radio, and try that. It is probably blown.

Take the battery to an auto parts store and have them test it, most do this for free. If you can, take the alternator with you. If your able to keep the car running after the jump, try to drive it to the auotparts store for the testing.

one of the problems could be , you have a bad drain on battery, check charging system,if you disconect battery and hook it back up does it ark if so check all elecrical components for drain

Possible you have an earth wire loose ( contact wiring.) Loose battery terminals. Please start the checking from battery side and carefully not to cause any unexpected spark. That might cause a serious damage to ECU etc, My technical advise better a Car Electrician to do the job for your benefit.
