Only had this car 12 DAYS!!!! Ticking in the motor. We took for a drive and car stalled. Now it's sitting behind a Dairy Queen. Dashboard and all lights inside come on but car will NOT start now? What could this problem be??? Test drove it and it ran just fine. Any ideas what it could be? 2000 Grand Prix. Thank you.

Loose power

The ticking I have no idea. Losing power and sputtering could be a number of problems, bad wiring harness, a short, a sensor, bad injectors, clog in a fuel line perhaps.

Radio and dashboard flick off and on while driving.

see if you can duplicate the problem with the car sitting still, key in the on position. gently wiggle the key to see if the problem occurs.

the polos have a recycle flap motor located on the passenger side behind the glove compartment and a temp. flap motor also located behind the glove box but more towards the center of the dash and near the bottom.one or both of these motors are probably stuck or slipping on the plastic gears.

We had a similar situation. It took the dealer a few days to figure out it was an issue with the wiring harness(es) in the center console - around or behind the transmission shifter.

Car making ticking sounds.

Hi weaver-willi,
My name is Dennis and I can be of assistance.
The ticking (clicking) sound is the starter solenoid clicking to complete (close) the starter electrical circuit and to insert the starter pinion in the flywheel ring gear but the starter motor does not have enough amperage available to turn the starter motor.
All this to say you have corroded battery terminals. I know this sounds stupid but think about it, The battery circuit as enough current to power the radio but not the higher current demands like head lights. Clean the battery terminals of resistance causing corrosion and the car will start and your other ignition problems will go away also.
Glad to be of assistance. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating.
Thank you
Dennis
