Car parked for 7 years when it ran out of gas. Installed new battery and 4 gallons of gas, started with a prime, ran it for 15 min. and shut it off. Whould not start again. Checked fuel filter and replaced when only got a trickle. Still would not start, checked and replaced fuel pump, still will not start, not getting gas to tbi. ???

If the fuel gauge drops off when you are driving then its a sending unit problem that means you have to drop the tank and replace the float and sending unit. This is a common problem for alot of cars because of cheap gas. If you have to drop the tank check the fuel pump canster for dirt because of cheap gas. Replace the fuel pump strainer and fuel pump filter. If the car or truck has about 100,000 miles you might want to change the fuel pump at that time also just to cover your back. If you take it to a shop they will charge you at least $900 to start. But if you do it yourself it will cost you about $200 dollars maybe alittle more.

Hello;
It sounds from your description that the fuel pump is weak. To check the fuel pressure you need a fuel pressure test gauge for fuel injection. Attach the gauge to the test port schrader valve and turn the ignition to the on position. Record the reading. Now start the engine and record that reading. Unplug the pressure regulator vacuum line and record the reading.
The pump should have pressure with in specs but if low, start with the installation of a new complete pump. It is located in the fuel tank. Also replace your fuel filter.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks;

You sure the ground wires all reconnected? Check for power at the inertia switch. If it has power,the pump may be bad. Power to the Inertia switch comes through the FP relay, from the fuse. The relay is in a box called the CCRM (constant control relay module) Power from the relay to the switch is Dark Green/ Yellow wire.lF that wire has no power in the crank mode, then I think the CCRM is bad. The CCRM is located behind the coolant reservoir on a bracket. The ground for the CCRM is right front of engine compartment G103, dont really have a picture to tell you where exactly to look. Thanks for the detailed story, a lot of people write " it wont run, whats wrong"

Was looking at posts and other sites. I take it that some relays are even under seats. Anyway, Apparently the ECU relay and the ECC relay are linked. When properly operating the ECC brain sends a signal to the ECC relay and the ground wire is tan/green. The brain can be throwing the signal and the relay terminals are not receiving the signals, so the relays cannot switch.
Although you have replaced some relays, you need to check your plugins for these 2 relays.
