No the engine does not need to come out. But the whole front suspension and everything on that side will need to come off in order to remove the tranny. It will drop out the bottom also

I just want to know if its true

-You are talking about replace clutch...? If so then

-Yes that is true.
-Before you can get to the clutch. the transmission has to be
separate from the engine.

Good luck

I have a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. The radiator coolant has leaked into the Transmission. How can I fix this outside of replacing the transmission?

You have a real problem on your hands. Not only did coolant get into the transmission, transmission fluid most likely got into your coolant as well. The trans fluid will eat the lining of all the rubber cooling hoses and cause them to soften and eventually fail, and will cause a black, gunky color in the coolant. You will need to:
1. Replace the radiator since the trans cooler inside has broken.
2. Replace all coolant hoses and flush the entire cooling system.
3. Have the transmission rebuilt or replaced to ensure all coolant traces have been removed.

There is no easy fix for this....I had to do it myself.

Can a 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter motor fit in a 2002 dodge intepid that also contained a 2.7 liter motor are they compatible

look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match, they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com

How to replace a transmission on a 1993 plymouth sundance

many would think that this is a hard task, but it really isnt, all you need, is to sufficiently lift your vehacil to be able to get underneath it, disconnect your gas pedals from the transmission, via the engine bay, remove the exhaust system, disconnect the starter motor from the bottom, and take out all the bolts holding the trasmission in place, there should be a mount about in the center, connected to the trasmision which is what is mostly holding it in place, then gently move the trannsmission down and towards the back of the car, little by little, if it is a manual, u will need to disconnect the slave sylinder, then take your new transmission, and just follow the steps in a reverse order, finishing with connecting pedals. this is pretty easy, taking into account that a handful of highschool students(including me) removed the trasmission, clutch and flywheel, and replaced all of those in a matter of days(only 2 school hours a day).

1996 dodge intepid when brakes are put on it kills motor

I had this problem before on my 95 Intrepid and I replaced the Idle Air Control Motor and all was well. Your Mass Airflow Sensor may also be the culprit. Your best bet would be to go to any common auto parts store, Advance, Auto Zone, the like and get a Hains manual for your specific Intrepid. It will show you how to easily and precisely check your input sensors that determine idle speed and get you running back to normal. $15-$20 here will be your BEST purchase for your car. You will thank yourself MANY times over for getting it. May well be the best purchase youll ever make for any auto you own now and in the future. Good Luck!!!
