We found a leak in one of the rear brakes in our 05 Dodge Neon SXT. while driving, the brakes would respond with one pump, then the next my foot would go to the floor. if i pushed hard as they were on

the wire end plug AC is there, see that, just follow it to the heater
works on all cars this simple obvious step.
or of confuses ask your local shop tech to show it to you.
or just plug it in and pray PnP

If it is the red light that says Brake, it could be the parking brake switch or the low fluid sensor on the master cylinder.

inferior pads or improperly installed. it could be that they just need to conform to the disc and the sound will go away, but you should find out that everything else is ok. if you got one of those brake jobs with a lifetime warranty, then its definitely because of the pad material.

NEED TO PRESSURE BLEED FROM MASTER CYLINDER ! OR HAVE A HELPER PUSH ON BRAKE PEDAL WHEN YOU RELEASE BLEEDER VALVE @ EACH WHEEL, RR-1st, LR- 2nd, RF- 3rd, LF-4th. gravity doesn't cut it dude !

Get a mechanic to come and look at it Dont drive it as you will not have any brakes.

It is located at the right rear of the engine block (when viewed from the flywheel end [rear] of the engine, or left side of the vehicle).

Probably the neutral safety switch. With your foot on the brake, try moving through the gears as you hold the key to start.
Do It Yourself Diagnosis and Repair

Sounds like the rear brake hardware. If these items fell out then you will need to have a complete brake rebuild done.

2003 dodge neon sxt

Here are the steps;
) Park on a level surface. safety
) Block all the other wheels. safety
) Put the vehicle gearshift in PARK. safety
) Release the handbrakes.
) Slightly break the rear wheel lug nuts seal while on ground. Just loosen do not remove.
) Jack up the rear wheel.
) Check to see the wheel will turn so you know the brake shoes are not binding against the drum.
) Now you can remove the lug nuts and wheel.
) Remove the drum. Some times the drum has frozen on with rust. You may have to use a hammer and hit along the drum near the outer edges to break it free.
