Crank shaft sesor/cam sensor problem?

My check engine light came on and my car started puttering when i gave it gas. My body had a diagnostic tool and we figured out that it was ether the cam shaft sensor or the crank shaft positioning sensor. i just replaced the cam sensor and now the car takes 5 to 10 sec. to turn over and bogs out if i go over 2000 rpm's. im assuming it would has to be the crank sensor. if any one can think of another reason why this might happen please help.

If you had a fault with the crank sencer your car would not start.Sounds like the air flow meter is giving you the problems.

I have a 2002 Chrysler Concorde 3.5. I have crank, no start.

Ah the old 'Let's try replacing this' method of car repair. It doesn't work and is expensive.

The Yellow OBD (on board diagnostics) Light is telling you there is a problem and if you connect a Professional Grade Scan Tool Computer, it will give codes and tell you exactly what the problem is. You can't guess, you need a mobile auto electrician.

Check engine, tcs and slip light are on?

A lot of vehicles have special tools that are needed to install the Camshaft Position Sensors. Where if you don't have the tools you can still put the sensor in but it might not be installed correctly. Also double check to make sure that the Crank Sensor is still tightly secured.

2002 Daewoo Lanos 1.6 L engine- Car cranks over, but will not start. Sprayed gas in air intake manifold and car will start and idle perfectly. The whole ignition system has been replaced. Fuel system...

Either the injectors are incapable of spraying fuel or they aren't receiving an electrical pulse. That might be because of faulty wiring/connections or a faulty ECU or it could be the ECU hasn't enough information in order to send a pulse, again because of faulty wiring or connections, the crank sensor or perhaps that is what the security immobiliser does when it is armed.

Check for an injector pulse with an oscilloscope or noid light.

Code p1345 is the crankshaft variation learn. You need to get the crankshaft variation learn done for the code to clear. You will need a scan tool. This should take care of the check engine light.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Car would not start, after siiting for an hour it did start .

mcdevito75 here, BEST BET, let the shop do this work, too many un forseen problems could come up. The stalling and unable to start for a while could also be a bad ignition module, no test for this part, but I would have it changed, for if it is a bad ignition module, all this other work will not fix the stalling and later start of your car.

2005 kia sorento crank shaft position sensor where is it located?

I HAVE A 2005 KIA SORENTO V-6. MY PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I WOULD DRIVE ON TO THE HWY IT WOULD PUTTER LIKE IF I WAS LOSING POWER. THE HOLE TIME THIS WAS GOING ON MY GAS GAGE WOULD NOT WORK. SO I WENT OUT TO AUTO ZONE HERE IN MADERA CA AND BOUGHT A DIAGNOSTIC TESTER AND THE CODE NUMBER P0338 WHICH MEANS CRANK SHAFT CENSER IS GONE. SO WHEN YOUR GAS GAGE STOP WORKING GET YOUR CAR TESTED OR THE BEST WAY TO GO IS TO INVEST IN A DIAGNOSTIC TESTER. IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF MONEY

My transmission shifts gears constantly inbetween 3rd gear and overdrive and then my check engine light comes on. Is this a motor problem or an engine problem?

Are you getting P0320 detected? If so, change the Crank Shaft Sensor. If no errors are detected, then you have to wait till it gets worse. Changing the sensor is a hit and miss approach, and it is better to be sure rather than guess, because it can get costly changing the wrong parts. If your vehicle has more than 80K miles, sensors start going bad, and you just have to change them. The 4 sensors that gave the most problems an my car were Camshaft Sensor, Crankshaft Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, and of course the Thermostat. Also, one of the Oxygen Sensors showed bad on the diagnostic, but gave no problems. In your situation, it could be the PowerTrain Control Module (PCM). There are diagnostic tools available from ebay that are hooked to a Laptop Computer, and while you driving the car, have someone observer the Laptop Computer looking for the error to reveal itself.
