You need to go to a transmission specialist. Selector issues and wear probably.

found this in 96 ranger owners manual, don't know if 93 the same? If there is a bolt, might be abler to use lug wrench or proper socket and ratchet?

The hydraulic fluid level in the clutch master cylinder may be low. The rough ride can cause the fluid to fill with air bubbles. If the fluid has air in it, it will not compress properly and therefore the clutch will not disengage.

Could be a stuck relay, or the ac clutch.

IF you have bled the clutch system and managed to get a firm clutch then the clutch plate has been installed back to front and the clutch center is hitting the bolts that hold flywheel onto the crankshaft. If you have no not got a firm predal pressure replace the clutch master cyl

This happens to many cars that sit too long. The clutch plate has probably stuck to the flywheel. Just put the transmission in neutral and with engine and brake off, try rocking the car back and forth. If alone, be sure that you are not on a hill, because when the clutch breaks loose, the car will roll freely.

Sounds like your clutch is not releasing enough to allow you to engage or disengage. It is dragging which causes hard engagement and disengagement. Possible causes are, Low fluid in the master cylinder to the clutch, or bad slave cylinder down by the bell housing, or badly worn pressure plate, or air in the line leading to the slave cylinder. You will need to eliminate these items one by one by testing to find the bad item in the system. Good luck

try to find an 1988======>93 ranger. the closer to 88 the better. the wiring harness is similar in 90-93, but you will have to adapt some parts on the newer.
