Possible gaske pan leak

I have a small oil leak about the size of a quarter. I just bought the car the previous owner had the oil gaskets on the top of the engine replaced last October I am thinking it could be the gasket pan now. How much do these usually cost to repair?

SOURCE: I have a oil leak , I drove my car about 2000

The problem you are facing is very common. Take your car to an expert to know whether the oil pan needs to be replaced? If yes then you need to do that immediately without further delay. Last time I encountered problem in the oil pan of my car, I immediately replace that part from http://www.automotix.net/usedautoparts.html that now my problem is completely resolved.

Oil leak 2004 kia sedona, could it be from an old oil filter or what is most likely leak has gradually gotten bigger over a six month period puttin quarter of quart in a day now

Could be two things. If the diameter of the leak is wide on the ground it could be the oil pan gasket or if it small that it could be the oil switch.

Canot get pan out with motor jack up into fire wall not able to clear dual oil pickups front and rear sumps over front diff f 250 4x4 5.8 gas motor

you must unbolt the oil pump pick up in order to remove pan. are you just replacing a gasket due to a leak?? I usually end up dropping the pan at the point where you have it and plutting in the gasket there. Pain in the but but easier than taking the pan down. Make sure you use a rubber gaske t(not cork) and apply a dab of silicone in the corners by the front and rear seals when putting back together.

I changed my oil less than a month ago on my 1996 Jetta GL 2.0 and since then the oil they put had leaked out completely. I bought my own oil and just filled it up and it leaked out again. I took it today...

Hi
It sounds like the sump gasket is leaking, this can happen over time and with a car of this age is not unusual, the gasket should cost no more than say £10 GBP and labour would be about 1 hour max.

Hope this helps

Oil leak about the size of a quarter on ground -

Check around your rocker cobver and around the engine for oil leaking down over. it is possible that its just oil sat in the catch tray under the car leaking now and then. I would expect after 2-3 weeks though that all this would be gone.

I always pressure wash the oil leaked area and then when it starts again you have a better idea where it came from.

at 141K there are many gaskets or seals that could be leaking.crankshaft seal,[behind main pulley],oil pan gasket or drain plug, timing cover gasket and so on.keep the oil changed regularly & full, get back to me @ 241K !

I have a 1993 bmw 318i with 220,000 0n the clock. rough idol.

White smoke means water getting into cylinders. Usually leaking head gasket, or possible intake manifold gasket if the manifold is heated with water! You need to see your service people again. Weather conditions should never cause this problem. The oil leak might be fixed by tightening all of the perimeter bolts on the oil pan.

93 explorer dripping oil over night from bottom of car

clean the srea and watch, tracing back to the source. The oil can leak from the front seal, rear main seal,Pan gaske, or come from the top of engine. Chances are greater it's coming from the front because of fan draft. good luck

I need to put on a oil pan gasket

Make sure it is the oil pan gasket, it is rare they leak, more likely the oil is comming from up top and drainning down on to the pan (since it is lowest point on the engine), have the engine cleaned of oil and then decide where the oil is comming from, if you find it is just a small leak don't worry about it.
