SOURCE: car won't start wants to turn over but nothing.

sounds like you have a blown head gasket this would explain loss of coolant and running poorly excessive smoke.

SOURCE: Truck losing power and service engine soon light on

Like to other guy said, give it a tuneup. Also try SEAFOAM to clean carb up of slug. Also check to make sure the butter fly for the choke has not come loose, causing it the choke it down. Failed choke pull-off.

SOURCE: head lights dimming and losing power while driving

Next time this happens, pull over and unscrew the gas cap. The vent may be clogged.

Otherwise, your catalytic converter may be failing. It can also clog and hinder engine exhaust.

Good luck !

SOURCE: '97 Grand Prix 3.1L...Head Gasket? Manifold? Control Module?

Hi Melody- it feels like you could be right. it feels like your car was well worn when you got it. common causes of overheating are coolant too low, which is what i suspect was the case when you first got it. a stuck closed thermostat not allowing coolant to circulate. i assume you have an electric cooling fan- check to see if your fan motor is fried. you could also have large air pockets inside your cooling system which can give false coolant level. when you pour coolant into your radiator rather than your overflow tank, you introduce air into the cooling system that has to be purged by allowing the bubbles to work their way out through your radiator by squeezing your coolant hose you can assist the escape of these air pockets (with engine running) evidence of a cracked head can be presence of coolant in your engine oil-pull your oil dipstick and look. you say no evidence of coolant leakage, however, look underneath your car and check to see if there is coolant splatter surrounding the underside. it maybe that your car is maintaining enough pressure to run but when engine temps reach a point to where the radiator fan should kick on, and/or the thermostat should open to allow coolant flow and these things dont happen-the result is what you describe with no power and overheating that will eventually overstress your head(s) warped heads can cause the symptoms you describe. you can perform a compression test to help pinpoint a blown cyl. an idea for fixing your car for cheap would be to take it to your local high school auto shop. the only way kids learn the trade is by subject cars. ill bet you can even arrange them to pick it up. the will fix your car for cost. you would only need to supply whatever parts are needed to make the repair. its a win-win situation because they get to learn by fixing your car and you get to use your car for doing mommy things without fear of labor fees. which are around $120/hr. I hope i have helped you with your car good luck!

I'm having some issues with My 2008 audi A4 Quattro 2.0 its the b7 plat with the turbo ' I was doin about 70 on the interstate and kicked it to blow by some traffic and my oil pressure light came on ....

If the engine has an oil warning light on, there is a possibility of low/no oil flow around the main bearings and turbo etc.
That will cause irrepairable damage.

My 325i shut down on the interstate. The oil light had been on so i assumed that may have something to do with it? As soon as i pulled to the shoulder, it started smoking. Help please!

Not good-two things you cannot ignore on any engine is the temperature gauge and the OIL LIGHT-at the very least, you need to let it cool down, and check your oil level-if it is outside the hatch marks that indicate normal range, fill it and start it up, listen for anything unusual. If it seems alright, gently drive it and have it checked out for leaks, or damage-or, you might just have it towed to a good mechanic since, if this was due to low oil pressure, you may end up needing a new engine-good luck.

I was driving on the interstate when my oil light started going on and off intermittantly. I stopped to check fluid level and it was fine. No leaks under car. Started driving again and light came on...

Your oil pump is loosing power, this light is going on when you have driven for long periods or in high temperature, the hot oil looses viscosity and gets thinner, try changing the oil with a high mile one (cars/trucks with more than 100,000mi) or add an oil pressure restorer treatment, this will do the job for a while but your truck "has warned you already" it will need a new oil pump soon. Good luck
