Sounds like you have shorted the a/c cycle switch. when you do this it wont cut the clutch on the compressor this is located on the a/c drier on the fire wall hope this helps you and good luck !!!!

if the light doesnt come on the compressor is not engaging the clutch. possible wiring problem. check a/c clutch relay. may be faulty compressor or the system may be completely empty of refrigerant
it is usually the fan blowers(motor's) inside your blazer's might have a short with the wires but you should also check all your fuses for ones that are broken so sometimes the fuses break is because there is too much electron current going through the wires that broke the fuse so you might have a short some where because of this. You can use a multimeter to check all wires and fuses too.
i had the same problem with my 02 gmc sierra then i noticed a wire hanging down under my dashboard wich had become disconected somehow i pluged it back in and my ac worked again after 2 years of not having it
get a mechanic to have a look ,water level low hence the heater is cold and ac taking a long time to cool because the fan isnt starting up when ac is turned on ,Sounds like your fan is playing up and you may have cooked the head gasket??
Your heater valve is stuck open, also in a pinch you can crimp off your hose to the heater coil at fire wall. Try to find the heater valve vacumb hose under the hood see if it is bad and fixit. or some models have a cable to the valve could be broken.
