Ask a friend to help pump the brake while you look underside for leaks.
KEEP brake fluid reservoir fill!

Do a complete bleeding.

SOURCE: How do i properly bleed out my Jimmy?

I use a vacuum bleeder (abt $35) starting at the furthest brake line from the master cylinder & working my way back to the closest. If bled properly by keeping the maste cylinder full, this should solve your problem. Rick

SOURCE: Brake pedal still goes to floor 2000 GMC Jimmy

It's very possible to be the master cylinder, the o-rings on the piston could be worn, letting the fluid seep back through instead of getting full pressure through the lines. Could also be the brake booster.
Try changing the master cylinder first, which is cheaper and easier, and see if there is a difference, you'll need to bleed the brakes again.
To check the booster,
With the engine off, pump the brakes until the pedal is hard, then hold pressure on the brake pedal and listen for air escaping, or the pedal goes slowly to the floor, Do that after the master cylinder has been changed, at least that will be eliminated.

Testimonial: "Hadn't thought about the O-rings on the rod thanks for the idea. Great Idea Thanks!"

What would cause the Brake Calipers to stick and get my Rotors hot on my 1999 GMC JIMMY

The master cylinder. What you have is something that is pressurizing the front brake circuit but not the rear. The only possibilities would be the Master Cylinder or a proportioning valve.

98 jimmy slows down and stops on its own.

If the brakes are stopping the jimmy, it could be a hydraulic problem. check brake fluid level in master cylinder. If it is overfilled, fluid can expand when fluid heats up and can apply brakes. also, bad brake hose can trap pressure in caliper and apply brakes. Also check brake pedal and booster adjustments. other possibility is caliper/hardware (mechanical) is hanging up and not releasing. If drum brake in back, check adjustment and/or stuck wheel cylinder.

Make sure your your wheel speed sensors have good connections at the wheel since you just did work there. You may need to bleed the brakes again for the other problem.

New brakes everything new blead brakes still no pedal

Did you replace the brake calipers? If so, the calipers are left and right specific. Even though they can be mounted on either side, make sure the caliper bleeder screw is on the top portion of the caliper when mounted on the vehicle or else it will be impossible to completely bleed the air out.

Instructions for replacing front disc brakes.

Jack up the car, support with a jack stand. Remove the wheel, unbolt the 2 bolts on the back of the caliper, and remove the caliper and pads off the rotor. Then with a large C-clamp or caliper piston tool and the old brake pad, push the brake piston back into the caliper until it is completely seated, install the pads, lubricate where the calipers slide and reinstall. Make sure to pump the brake pedal after you are done to get the new pads against the rotors before driving.

Turned rotors and replaced pads now it locks up why on 99 jimmy

Providing you do not have an ABS or Brake light.Either you have a leak, ( which should have set off a brake light) the calipers are defective, the rubber hoses leading to the calipers are so worn that they are deteriorating from the inside and are causing a blockage., or the fluid needs to be replaced and the system must be bled.

Removal and replacement of brake shoes 1999/2000 on ford escort e

Hi
Firstly put the hand brake on and loosen the wheel nuts, jack the car and remove the wheel, if you turn the wheels out so you have a better view. then remove the 2 10mm bolts from the rear of the brake caliper, there will be a hard tough wire coming over then brake caliper pop this off with a screw driver or pliers. now open the bonnet and remove the cap from the brake fluid bottle. once done leave it off and then retun to the brakes, get a flat screw driver and place it between the inner most brake pad and the brake disc then push the 2 apart, once these have been moved lift the caliper off and the brake pads should come free. the caliper has a cylider/ round part that pushes the pads against the disc ensure that the cylider is pushed right back into the caliper using some big grips large pliers. once the cylinder is right back you should be able to fit the new pads. replace all the parts in reverse order, but before putting the wheel back on push the brake pedal several times until the pedal feels hard. then replace the wheel and do the other side. once complete check the fluid level on the brake fluid and replace the cap.

This is a fairly easy job should take a novice about 40mins a side but if your quite savvy with cars then you can complete the whole job in about an hour.

Hope this helps if not please get back to me so I can be more accurate, and talk you through it.

Regards
Dan

Brakes on 200 GMC jimmy

get a bleed kit or make up some with clear plastic tubing fitted to each bleed nipple
run tubing into a clear dispoable container for each with enough fluid in them so as not to allow air back up the tubing! 2inches deap should do it so long as the tube cant move out of the fluid!
then you can open all four nipples & slowly pump the pedal & dont lat the master cylinder get too low on fluid! [dont pump hard or fast as it creates bubbles]
when no air is left in the system [no bubbles in jars or tubing then close all nipplse!
allow a couple of minutes for the rubbers to settle to original shape then you should have pressure at the paedal!
Cheers Rob
