How to test fuel regulator on a 1998 chevy s10 4 cylinders car starts dont run
Go to autozone, there you can rent their tool to check the pressure of your FPR. Then you should be able to connect that tool to your cars fuel line. Which will tell you the pressure.
This could and very well may be your fuel pump. Fuel pressure regulators dont go out too often.
First of all I'm glad it was your fuel pump, and nothing major.
For the misfires, it will be a tricky one to diagnose. Since you said you're getting good spark on all 4 wires, and have replaced spark plugs, only thing that would I think, would be the fuel injectors. How dirty was your fuel filter? If you answer dark, black, stuffed, nasty or anything along those lines, it is very possible dirt got by and is now in your injectors. It is relatively easy to swap those out. *If you need me to guide you through it, let me know* But go to a junk yard, and find some fuel injectors (Dont buy new, unless you're positive it is fuel injectors) If that dont help, we'll try a different approach.
Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestion. The fuel pump was not putting out enough pressure. I changed the fuel pump, the car now runs, however it is not running smooth.I am getting a reading on autozone computer that there is a misfire on #1 and #3 cylinders. I am getting spark at all four wires. I changed the plugs and it has not resolved this problem.
