SOURCE: 1999 GMC Sierra brake problem

When you change the master cylinder it is best to gravity bleed first, then proceed to the pedal technique.

Gravity bleeding is when you just open the valve and let gravity pull the fluid down.

Keep in mind you must "prime" the master cylinder first before installing it, did you do that?

Priming the master cylinder is where you put it in a vise gently, you then take apaptors and screw into the outlets, then take tubes from the adaptors back into the resoirvor. You fill the resorvoir up with fluid and take a 3/8 extension for a socket and push the piston in and out slowly until there are no more air bubbles.

After this procedure you gravity bleed the brakes, then go on to the pedal technique.

SOURCE: 4X4 inop on 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD

I have found that when you are going to engauge 4x4 high, it is best to only be going about 3 miles an hour. Not faster, not stopped. It likes some movement to help it mesh. I've had perfect shifts since I started this. Hope it helps. Wade.

if you have a hydraulic clutch ( no transmission offered) check the slave cylinder for leaks ( some cars use the brake master cylinder as a reservoir for the hydraulic clutch)
check the brake booster to master cylinder mounting for leaks or the rear seal of the master cylinder may be faulty allowing fluid to pass to the booster chamber
check for a leak under pressure at the rear flexible rubber hose from the body on

What is the engine size on a 1991 gmc sierra 2500 4x4

That year you probably have a 5.7 or 5.0 motor. You can find the engine size by getting your VIN and calling the dealer. They can tell you from either the 8th or 10th number in the VIN

I press my clutch and get no resistance and cant get into any gear? 2003 gmc sierra 8.1 4x4 2500hd 5 speed

Check fluid level in clutch master cylinder, if fluid is full then bleed clutch system.

If you still have no pedal resistance you will need a new master or slave cylinder for the clutch.
