My ICP stopped working and I ordered a replacement. It will be brand new. My question is, did they ever hammer out he kinks that caused the stepper motors to fail or am I looking at another replacement in a few years?
SOURCE: odometer problem still don't work
you need a new odometer there are some worn teeth that when it gets to this spot it stops i am a volvo tech see it often on the 240 and 740 series cars

Just because the horn works doesnt mean the Clockspring is good, the cruise circuit part of it could be bad. Have you had the recall for the brake switch (switch on master cyl) done? The black/yellow and the light blue/pink wire on the servo (steper motor) should be hot (fuses 13 and 5) Brake light switch working OK? The Light blue/black wire coming out of servo should be hot , that wire goes to the column, through the clockspring, to the on/off switch. If that wire is hot coming out of the servo, but has no power at the on/off switch, the clockspring may be bad. You can always make a jumper from the servo to the switch with a wire, if it works, then that confirms the clockspring bad. Good Luck ; )

AC blows only through defrost vents. This problem is related to vacuum leak.Either there is a leak or the vacuum door actuator motor is faulty. It has to be replaced. Vacuum leaks result in system diverting to defrost mode.--- The door inside are powered by vacuum. So, check the vacuum hose that goes from the driver's side of the intake manifold back to & thru the firewall. You can crawl under the passenger foot well & unhook one of the vacuum hoses & see if you're getting any vacuum power. There could be an unhooked hose under the dash that's bleeding off the vacuum. ---------- Sounds like the blend door actuator which causes air from defrost only. It's vacuum driven and when it fails, it's usually an indication of a vacuum leak. To trace the leak, start the car, turn the AC on high and starting at the firewall in front of the passenger's side, trace the vacuum lines backward until a leak is detected. If no leak is detected, it's very likely that the blend door actuator is faulty and needs replacement. To replace the actuator you will need to take apart the dash and remove completely the instrument panel, disconnect the connector, remove the four screws, remove the temperature blend door actuator and replace it. --------------- If the vacuum is not getting detected manually and visually, then it has to be traced by the pressure tool. The tool will be connected to any of the vacuum hose and the soapy water will be connected to the vacuum pipe. And the air is passed, if any bubbles are noticed on the pipe then there is a vacuum leak or may be any hose is cracked. But if no leak detected then its faulty blend door actuator. It has to be replaced. ------------- This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

You've replaced the two main components that would cause this condition. Does your odometer still work? If it does, then the problem is with the instrument cluster. If the odometer does not work, you should check the wiring from speed sensor to the PCM.

sorry for the typo, that should read "hammer out THE kinks" :)
