Hi Metzgerism!

No tools are needed to do such replacements, as both head- and brake-lights are accessible by simply removing panels/caps that cover them. For the headights there are caps that can be twisted and removed, while for the brakelights you need to carefully pry open a panel on the rear post.

Good luck!

When I turn on the headlights, the brakelights won't work including the turn signals. when the headlights are off, the brakelights and turnsignals work. what could the problem be?

My first thought would be a bad ground connection in the harness for the rear lights.
You might want to take a test light and check the contacts in one of the sockets.

Change headlight

The headlights are like the brakelights you have to turn the socket out of the headlight assembley. be careful not to tough the light bulb with your bare hand. The oils on your skin will make the light burn out faster.

Replace headlamp bulb and brake light bulb

Open the hood and look behind the headlights. Take the plug wire off and remove the retaining ring...it should screw off. As far as the brakelights, you need to pop the trunk and remove the bulbs from behind the lens.

No power to anything besides power windows and car runs

1st thing i would do is check fuses. when my brakelights went out it was just a fuse.
