Manufacturers vary on intervals recommended. However, the old rule is the best rule....change your oil and filter every 3,000-4,000 miles. If using synthetic (common ones available in stores) that interval can be extended to 4,000 to 5,000. More exotic synthetics (such as Amsoil, using their filter) run to 5,000 miles and replace filter and oil lost during filter change. Replace all oil at 10,000. Actually a good deal even though the oil runs about $10.00 per quart.
Use manufacture recommended oil Wt. and rating (Conventional or syn.) Syn. oils allow for longer change intervals, but may not be recommend by manufacture to extend interval. So if it is still under warranty save some money and stay with the Manufacture recommendation conventional oil unless they specify Syn.oil.So as to not void warranty. If out of warrenty Syn. oils can have longer interval between oil change. Dose it effect or have any other real improvement in normal cars???? not really ...for the cos ..No. Is toilet water wetter then sink water?
Press the "Info" button on the left of the dash cluster until your maintenance miles/months screen is displayed.
Press and hold the "info" button until the maintenance screen begins flashing.
Release the "info" button and then push and hold it it for one second.
Your Maintenance intervals should reset to +6 months and +7500 miles since the last interval amount.
Note that if you have not reset it for more than one interval, you may need to do it more than once. If you have not done it for many intervals, you may need to have it reset with the scantool at a dealer, as I have run into a handful of vehicles that the oil change reminder locked up after 3-4 "intervals" were skipped/not reset.
It depends on what kind of oil are you use.Better quality oil lasts longer(5000 miles). If you drive on cheap oil you better change it earlier (3000 miles).
if this is a 2006 or old sprinter....turn the key on...push the button that changes the reading from odometer to trip to sevice interval ....til interval shows...turn key off...push button and hold it....while holding button turn key back on....hold it til interval resets
