I have BMW 318i 1999 E46 1.9L Automatic , 9 moths ago I started the Car but it didn't start Motor work then stop , 2n time it work. This behavior repeated once by Quarter. Also when I go back the Car sometimes seems to going to stop but it doesn't.
In last quarter this happend 4 times , yesterday it happen all the time and engine can't start uless I keep pushing Fuel and if I remove my leg from fuel padal it goes to stop. I tried to let it go for 5 minutes many times for 400m and after 8-10 stops it works fine.
I use Platinum 4 Bush plugs which as book says work for 100K KMs and Its just installed since 15K KM so It seems no problem in it. so Do you think ita a problem in fuel Pump or Fully supply parts ?
Thanks,
Regards,
Ahmed

Well with a replacement of the ignition coils, it makes sense that since this started happening after the replacement that the new coils are bad or have a bad connection. Have the dealer who put them on, check them for you as I am assuming that you did not have this problem with the old coil

Hi I'm litoshop that sounds like the fuel pump by removing the back seat and the insulation on the floor you'll see a cover remove the cover and your going to see fuel tank and fuel pump cover before removing turn car on and listen if you hear the pump working if you hear it and the engine shuts off and you still hear the pump then check the fuel pressure regular first before replacing the pump good luck

The number one problem with these cars is with clogged fuel filters. They must be changed regularly. When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks but won't fire? That could be a fuel pressure problem due to a clogged filter.

you have problem with tank mybe is dirty and you must check fuel filter and fuel pump
SOURCE: Car will not start at times. Although, once it is
yes you can do it all if your inclined. yes its possible you got good avise. When you drop the tank be sure you do it when the fuel is as empty as possible or its awkward and heavy. Also disconnect the battery when you do the starter so as not to short out anything
