Question about 2003 Oldsmobile Alero
Is there anywhere I can find an illustration of how the cable should be routed? I'm guessing there's an "up" pulley, a "down" pulley and a turn around the motor shaft. Is there a full 360 wrap around the shaft, or just part of a turn? Do you need to remove the motor?
Unfortunately there is no routing diagram. This is only sold as a complete unit (the window regulator) and is not serviced. Usually when the cable becomes dislodged it is because part of the cable plastic sheathing has cracked.

9 times out of 10 when windows won't roll up or down it is the switch. It is probably just dirty or broke. pop it out of there open it up and check it out. Don't be afraid to do it yourself. if it isn't your switch than try replacing motor/regulator. I am pretty sure it is easiest to get them together. just be careful not to bend the regulator arms!!!!!!
