Question about 1995 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

On a 1995 S500 Mercedes , ASR light keeps coming on

On a 1995 S500 Mercedes , can a defective ICM cause the ASR light to come on? The only code that shows is bad ICM.

Yes they can but unlikely-more likely a bad over voltage relay(powers up idle speed computer) or wire harness-your vehicle is probably a hfm type fuel injection they changed from lh that year. find out if it is lh check the fuses in the base module located in the passenger side of the engine compartment under a cover held in by 4mm allen head bolts-alot of times these control units have intermittent contact with there connectors. asr stands for acceleration slip regulation-both isc and asr communicate via can system to monitor throttle position- ea isc cc-idle speed cruise control and electronic actuater(throttle)-hopefully i have helped

Asr light does not go on
Hi,asr is a (acselleration skid control unit) control unit which helps when the wheele go to spin,its part of the abs(anty lock brakes)but works in revers,the asr light is normal to flash when wheeles are slipping,good luck

Asr light
Try disconnecting the battery and restart the engine it may work. It is a try. I tried it on my s500 (1993) it worked.

need more information what's the your car sl 500 or s500 and also need to know what time it's happen when first acceleration light comes on or while drive car some time it's comes on, other thing would like to know every time ignition off and start is the asr light off? if you give more information can be solve your problem,

I have a 1992 Mercedes s500 which occasionally the rev counter suddenly jumps up & down then stops completely then ASR light comes on and the car goes into ''limp mode'', then after a few minutes it...
Suspect idle control motor, although mass air flow sensor problems have sometimes been related to idle surge. Have pcm codes pulled for further diagnosis.

The asr light is on and the car does not
the o2 senser would not cause the a.s.r. light to come on-there is only 2 things that the engine module and the a.s.r. module have in common. 1 is the e.a. actuater(throttle) and 2 is the base module. most likley either your acuater has to be resynchronized or the actuater itself is bad. have codes pulled from your h.f.m.,a.s.r.,e.a-i.s.c.-c.c modules and see what the codes say. You will probably find that they say e.a. actuater module is defective. the pig tail connecters go bad and they need to be replaced just be glad you do not have a 600 series because they cost about 1200 a piece and the v12 have 2 of them. If it is defective and you cannot resynchronize it there is a company that rebuilds them for about 1/3 the cost of a new one- good luck

ASR light, on,drives like the brakes are on what to do
hello,good day,you can erase (using hht or star) but might be back again,part tobe check,,engine wiring harness,ldling actuator,sensor,connection,better to send your car to a dealer,they have diagnosis manual to guide them step by step,special tool like diagnosis cable,contact box and a simulator,this step can pin point the defective part,ty

The ABS ,BAS& ASR lights keep coming up
ABS--BAS

Most likely cause is the 'stop lamp switch'
It is a electric switch located on the brake pedal inside the car, about half way up on the brake pedal.
Pretty cheap too, I think the switch is only like $25 bucks.
2 connectors on the switch and then it turns out.

ABS & ASR lights come on together intermittently and steering becomes heavier at the same time. After switching engine offf and on again both lights go out and normal service is resumed.... 1996...
abs light comes on and off during normal driving conditions also surges forward when the ligt turns off
