I have a 85 chevy elcamino. It has a 305 engine in it that needs to be replaced, along with the transmission. I have a friend that will give me a early to mid 90s chevy caprice with a 350. Do you think that I will have much of a problem istalling the engine and trans from the caprice to the elcamino?

Providing that the valve covers are the same, the engine should fit. It would be easiest if both transmissions were identical but you can use a 350, 400 or even a 700r4 in there with some mods and a crossmember move and possibly a driveshaft mod. You will probably want to swap intake manifolds and all brackets for stuff up front as well.

Can a Chevy 305 engine bolt in place of a 1985 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme 307 engine?

Yes and no.
Yes it could bolt in place, but it could take a lot of work changing every thing over.
Exhaust, transmission, wiring, cooling, and so on.
Probably nothing except the crossmember would be the same for both engines.

Can I interchange a 1980-1985,305 chevy engine with a 1991 305 chevy?

as it is the basic 305 block the differences may be fuel injection over carburettor which may require sensor attachments but basically the engine should just slot in place.

Need an emissions schamatic for my 1984 K10 silverado 305 engine

Unfortunately, there are 13 variations for this engine and year. Was this truck sold or modified for high altitude? Was it sold in California or modified to meet the CA emission standards? Does it have a manual or auto transmission? After narrowing down based on answers to these questions, there are still alternative configurations depending on the particular equipment, so look carefully at the diagrams to see which components are used on your engine. Sometimes you can match the 3 letter code for the diagram to letters in the VIN or a sticker in the engine compartment. Please let me know if you have questions.

What engine of other cars could fit in Chevy caprice 82-85,

almost every rear drive drive full size used the 305 V8, so u can get an engine from a Buick La sabre, Pontiac bonneville and firebird, also Oldsmobile 88, and don't forget Camaro. any 305 chevy V8 will bolt in, also the 350 V8 will bolt in, this is a much better choice..
