1996 Land Rover Discovery 1 300tdi Tapping/Knocking & Clanging Brake issue

Occasionally and randomly, when i hit the brakes i will get some knocking/tapping resistance through the pedal accompanied by a metallic "clanging" type noise upon each knock. Braking force is moderately hindered during this time. This occurs completely irrespective of speed and force of braking, i could be braking gently to slow in a parking lot or ******* the freeway. Any ideas? Cheers.

My brakes to the land Rover 98 seem to not be working properly. I have to slam the brake pedal to the floor and it still doesn't stop.. What can i do ???

Since many issues can cause brake failure and the brakes are very important to your safety as well as the safety of others, Please have your brakes checked out at a local brake shop.
Have you had the brake pads replaced lately?
Have you heard any strange noises when using the brakes?

My Land Rover Discovery Will non come out of Park What could be some of the causes.

First check that the brake lamps work, if they do not , check the fuses , the switch and wires to it at the brake pedal. The transmission shift lock is controlled by a brake switch. Hope that helps

Emergency brake stuck on 96 land rover cant find cable underneath carriage, is there a secondary release.. this is soooo stupid.. I feel I've looked everywhere please hepl..

Probably the same set up as my 96 Discovery, Automatic transmission. The emergency brake is the drum (looks like a big metal flywheel, about 14 inches diameter) on the output of the center differential going to the drive shaft for the rear wheels. There is a short cable from there up to the driver's lever. By disconnecting the rear drive shaft, the e-brake drum can be removed. Its pretty heavy, so don't drop it on your knogan.

well the brake also has a switch by the floor that controls a actuator that allows you to remove shifter from park check fuses again to make sure they dont continue to pop if they do you might have faulty wiring somewhere in circuit
