You have damaged the engine, the smoke is from burning coolant in the engine due to a blown leaking cylinder head gasket or gaskets. Do not drive this or you will completely destroy the engine.

Not sure if engine coolant smells like rotten egs when it burns inside the cylinders , but it sounds like you may have blown a head gasket. Coolant and/or oil could be getting inside combustion chamber. Another possibility is that the catyletic converter might have broken up and colapsed onto the screen where it goes into the exhaust. Might give the rotten egg smell and block the exhaust enough to cause backpressure sufficient to cause the engine to run poorly too.
Try putting your palm over the exhaust pipe , if the exhaust is coming out in pulses (pop ,pop,pop) thats normal , if it is just slowly flowing out with no noticable pulses , I would check into the cat converter problem.

Could be your heater core leaking. Try some engine coolant "stop leak" in the radiator. Be sure to have the heat turned on when you do it, so the coolant and the rad stop will flow through the heater core for a while. I have the best luck with the stuff that is powdered aluminum . Pour it in your rad when it is low, and then fill to level. If that doesn't do it you may have to replace the heater core. Or, it could be just a hose leaking under the hood, and the fan is sucking it into the truck. Inspect all hoses and connections and gaskets closely .
It probably just drips until the coolant level get's low, and then steams forcing you to smell it.

My 2002 Lesabre (app 115000 miles) started something like this. Also the loose gas cap had been coming on for quite a while. I replaced the vacuum line from the air intake to the fuel sensor. It is under the engine cover (twist off the oil filler to remove the cover). There are two hoses together that come of the air intake. The small one goes to the top of the engine. The other goes across the front and makes a 180 turn back to the sensor. Chances are the 180 piece is cracked. It all comes from the dealer as one unit. $25
Seems to have fixed my problems. So if your car is running a little rough. Shutters under load. If the gas cap loose is coming on or probably a number of symptoms this might be the answer. I would replace this item. A cheap try.

Not to worry. Run the engine up to operating temp before jumping to conclusions and let the heat burn off any excess oil. A leaf will not do any damage.Do not let the engine overheat while idling and if the oil light comes on switch off immediately.
The smoke from the exhaust is oil deposited by oily assembly hands just burning off. It should dissipate after about 15 minutes at most.(or 5 miles' drive)

It can be issue
with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.
There
are many other possibilities causing these idle issues. Engine idles rough.
