Crank issues are easily diagnosed.
The big 3:
Battery
Starter
Alternator
Your crank system runs in a circuit with the above components. A positive wire is connected to all 3 of those, as well as negative wires, and a grounding wire ( grounded to your engine, and car frame, or strut tower )
1st confirm battery voltage with a tester or battery charger, if your battery is no good your alternator is to blame for not charging it up.
To inspect start by following your positive wire from the battery that heads to the starter and visually inspecting and feeling the wire for any damage or corrosion, repeat that process from the starter to the alternator.
If no problem found to repeat the steps for the grounding wires and negative wires. keep your senses snappy for connection corrosion or damaged wiring.
If no problem found check your battery to fuse box connection terminal inspect for damage or corrosion.
If no problem check your fuses for your starter, by looking at the panel on your fuse cover for the correct fuse, remove the fuse and inspect it to confirm if its blown or not, if blown replace the fuse and be on your way.
If your alternator is damaged, it will not charge your battery and in turn will cause your car to run your battery empty.
If the battery is good then most likely the starter again.

If the problem occurs after the car has been driven long enough to reach normal operating temperature, the problem is the starter. If the 'no crank' occurs cold, retest the battery.

I have a 98 Saturn SL1 from time to time it would not start, it wouldn't even try. I knew the battery was good. It turned out to be the cranshaft position sensor.

It may be possible that your alternator is bad and discharged your brand new battery. Take both the battery and the alternator to your local parts store and have both checked.

Sounds like the starter motor has gone out, replace it.
