1995 Nissan Maxima will not start, I was originally told that it was the Ignition Control Moduel but my car doesnt take that, what it needed was a Cam Position Sensor, I got and still not start, I just put a new starter and new battery on this morning and all I get is a click, I need help and I need help bad.
If you are getting a click sound. Ensure all connections st battery and starter are secure and tight. If starter doesn't crank motor over make sure u get switched power while someone cranks the car. Also try spinning the crankshaft to make sure the motor isn't seized
Two relays must close. One for security system and one for neutral safety. Check both circuits. Is there a security light flashing?

If you are twisting very hard or have to wiggle the key to get the starter to engage, then i would say so. Either that or you could replace the start portion of the switch with a push button on the dash, Just like the new in vogue sports cars have.

Check out you car's mass air flow sensor. It can keep your car from starting.

So the problem has been occuring for a year and you are just now trying to fix it? Sorry, I just simply do not understand why people do this...keep driving it until it won't drive anymore even though you KNOW it has a problem....Maybe you can explain this to me???
If you can hear the starter clicking when you try to start it, then you have a bad starter. If it makes no noise at all. then you most likely have a bad clutch switch.
