it means its due for service. If u wanna get rid of it without servicing the vehicle then as you start the car simultaneously push the ODOMETER reset button on the dash and it will wipe it. This will however just delay the point your car needs servicing.

check if your cooling fans stay on code 89 is
to do with switch in thermostat housing but requires thermostat housing replacement ,my
customers car had been to 2 other mechanics with out any luck. fans cut in and out as thermostat now opens and I suspect this is what damages switch . hope this helps kind regards luke
Hi mate I currently have a car doing this same thing I have replaced the temp switch in the back of the thermostat housing and cleared the code but it keeps coming back. How did you fix your customers car?
