2006 Honda Accord Coupe - I was rear-ended in a recent accident. Insurance company (Progressive) took care of the bumper repair. However a quarter sized flashing light blinks anytime the car is locked draining the battery since the accident. This is a different light from the smaller light that has always blinked on the instrument panel. This light is below the speedometer, next to oil pressure lights, etc. This started the day I got hit from behind. Too coincidental to be independent of accident. Can't lock vehicle without draining battery. I am off base to claim this was caused by the accident?

Check your trunk lock mechanism. it might not be locking properly and not seating right due to rear damage and trunk lights are on and that can drain the battery overnight. have it adjusted.

If you brought your car to Honda for service, they probably forgot to reset the maintenance reminder. If you took it to another shop, they probably did not know how to reset it. Anyway, the reset procedure is:

Put your key in the ignition
Turn the key to the II position for a couple of seconds
Then turn the key to the off position
Now push and hold in the odometer reset button
While still holding the odometer reset button, turn the key back to the II position
Hold for I think 10 seconds or so and your maintenance reminder light should reset it self.

SOURCE: The maintenance light blinks on and off 10 times

Maintenance is needed depending on the mileage, anything from an oil change to a major service. then the light can be reset.

SOURCE: D4 blinking, spedometer not working, check engine light on

Hi, a few questions 1st. Did your mechanic check for engine codes? Is your Honda a v-6 or 4 cylinder?
The flashing D4 light indicates a possible transmission malfunction. You should avoid rapid acceleration until the cause of the light blinking is determined.
If you have the V-6, there is a diagnostic port to connect a scan tool to read any stored engine codes that have turned on the check engine light. This port is located behind the ashtray in the center console (most cars did not have this til 96).
If you have the 4 cyl engine, there is a service connector located under the dash on the pass. side. Inside the connector is what looks like a 2 wire plug should be attached. Take a paper clip, unbend it, and insert the 2 ends of the clip into the connector to 'jump' it. Turn the ignition switch to the on position (don't start the vehicle), and the check engine light will flash. Count the flashes, short flashes are for code #'s 1 to 9 (single digit code), a 2 digit code will be a long flash for the 1st digit, followed by a short flash for the 2nd digit. If there is more than one code, they will be separated by a pause. They will repeat so you can count them and write them down. Let me know what the code #'s are so I can help further. Curt

I have a1994 Lexus gs 300. My quarter panel was hit and now my. Rear wheel is wearing out on the inside. What happened?

Well, if you were in an accident on the rear quarter panel, I might think that the wheel could have gotten hit as well causing it to be out of alignment. If your vehicle was repaired after the accident, I would return it to the shop and let them know that you are having issues with the tire wear and see if they can submit a supplemental to the insurance company to cover any part replacement, labor, and tire replacement. If your vehicle was not repaired after the accident I think I would take it to an alignment shop before the tire is completely worn out.

2096 Honda Odyssey had rear end collision. I was parked and car hit left rear middle/rear pretty hard. had to replace the reinforcement beam, bumper. Lift gate etc. picked up the car and the check engine...

If the tailpipe got jammed in the wreck there is a chance that it damaged an O2 sensor lead. I would contact the insurance company and see if they can amend the estimate to cover the repair.

How to tell whether a bumper is a new one

Have your insurance company come to where your car is
& look it over & compare the repair to the work that the insurance
company wanted done.

Ask a lawyer how to proceed, would be next

I would guess the body shop cut corners or you didn't go to
the top two shops they recommend going to

Trunk Slams Shut

I am speculating but it seems unlikely the garage replaced the gas struts and if your trunk lid was ok before the accident, then it seems possible it came out of the bodyshop with worse gas lift struts than it went in with.

If insurance paid for the repair it would be good to write your problem and suspicions and share them with the insurance company.

Po141 --- 2005 honda accord coupe with 86,000 miles --- recently had frond-end collision; check engine light indicating o2 sensor fault & pending, bank 1 sensor 2. Would this be / could this be...

It is not the necessarily the sensor but the relay that controls it. Check the relays it could have been shaken free in the bump. Pushing the relay in and out of its socket could refresh the contact and solve the warning code. To clear the code disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes.

Window auto up down

So the shop doesnt know whats wrong, but says its not related to the accident. They dont know squat. Contact your Insurance company and explain what is wrong. All these problems happened after the accident. Insist that they have the DEALER check it out and repair it. They are obligated to repair the car like it was before the accident.. Sounds like a ground issue.

Yes, if it didn't do it before the accident but now it is then call your insurance co. and let them know it isn't fixed and the symptoms. It could be anything. A bent steering component, warped rim, etc.
