I have a 03 Mazda Protege5. My airbag light started flashing 3 times, pausing and then repeating. A few minutes after the airbag light starts flashing, the gauges will start jumping, and the car will die. After it dies, it will not crank without being jumped. I am lost and need help. Thanks
SOURCE: Battery needs jump start if car is not driven for 3 days.
u either have a shorted cell in the battery or the system has a current draw like a glove box light being left on, try disconnecting the battery the next time you leave it, if it starts ok then u have a current draw and need to find the source of that draw.
Thatttttt's alternatorrrrr.
Your alternator charges your battery. No alternator, no battery charge.
SOURCE: will start but rpm gauge jumps up and down then it dies
The problem you describe has NUMEROUS causes. Most common of these is a COIL is going bad. The RPM gauge gets its signal from the ignition coil/crank sensor circuit (could be either one OR could be the wiring between the engine control module (ECM) and the engine components. Does the Check Engine light come ON when this happens? Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is always a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). You'll need an OBDII (On-Board-Diagnostics) scanner to retrieve any codes recorded/set in ECM. Once you do this and let us know what, if any codes are set, then we can go from there.
SOURCE: my 2001 oldsmobile alero will not start, I put gas
you have to leave it in the on position until the light stops flashing and then turn the car all the way to the off position then start it it works everytime for me make sure your radio and everything if off so it wont drain your battery
SOURCE: 2003 protege5 wont start unless jumped and dies
possible problems, dirty or corroded battery connection, bad battery, bad alternator, bad wiring from battery or alternator. if the vehicle starts with a jump then dies when you remove the cables it is somewhere in your charging system.
