2011 chevy cruz headlights flicker

They are two seperate circuits that go to the same bulb. The brake lights are actuated through the brake switch and the tail lights are actuated through the headlight switch If I remember right, there should be a seperate fuse for the taillights in the rear fuse panel. Look in your owners manual.

Based on your description, it sounds like the issue may be related to the headlight switch or the relay that controls the headlight circuit. The headlight switch may not be sending the correct signal to turn on the headlights when the ignition is on, but the relay is still working to turn on the headlights when the switch is in the on position and the ignition is off.

Did you check the front also for a broken wire? It's the park light circuit, so it may be a short at rear or front of car.

Yes I would look for a ground circuit problem. I would look at the ground wires for the headlights first. Even run a new ground wire for the tail lights to see if it helps.
Could be a ground connection for the body to frame or body to battery.
