Personally i would recheck cam timing. You probably moved cam in relation to crankshaft when you tightened tensioner.

You don't adjust tension. The belt is automatically tensioned by the belt tensioner. If the belt is routed properly and is too loose, then you either have the wrong belt, or the tensioner is bad.

The accessory belt tensioner is what keeps the accessory drive belt tight, or you can purchase just the accessory belt tensioner pulley separate, however the complete unit should be replaced.

If the tensioner can be moved by hand the lock down bolt is not doing its job. Try to tighten the bolt with the belt pulled tight and then release. If the belt loosens the bolt is not working as it should. Make sure theres a lock washer (split lock washer) between the bolt head and the post.

IT IS LOCATED ON A BRACKET ATTACHED TO SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER ON RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE..2 PIN CONNECTOR AND 1 IGNTION(COIL)WIRE..2 SCREWS HOLD IT TO BRACKET..YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE BRACKET TO ACCESS SCREWS OR THEY MAY BE SEIZED

Moist adjust via the alternator mount, Use a pry bar to pull the belt tight and tighten both bolts to keep it there.

The tensioner is a spring loaded unit that is supposed to provide the proper tension on the belt with out adjustments. Ususally if a tensioner goes bad it is not providing presure on the serpentine belt (loose belt, squeel, or squeek) or it has a bad bearing in the tensioner pulley (noisy, siezed). The tensioners are sold as an assembly in either case. If the tensioner went bad it is a good idea to replace the serpentine belt at the same time.

Please tighten the grip for the belt to enable tighter stay in-line.

To install a shorter belt,will require you to replace alternator bracket . The auto tensioner will not work properly .
