How to replace horn Button on 2000 Sunfire - 2000 Pontiac Sunfire

Pull the air bag module , don't recommend you do that ! Is the air bag light lit on the instrument cluster ? Horn not working an air bag light lit would indicate clock spring problem . Do you know what the clock spring is ?

Did you check the horn relay ? Do you know what a relay is ?

try to pull off fuse.

The problem may be not due to the relay but the button on the horn pad sticking. If you try tapping on the horn button and can get the horn to turn off, you may need to remove it and determine if there's any deterioration of springs or foam the hold the contacts away from each other. Depending on the specifics of the button you may be able to restore function.

ok this problem could be in several places. most likely its a blown fuse or more likely a relay.check your owners manual for locations. if its not a fuse or relay then its in the horn itself or possibly in the contacts in the switch.The easy way to find it is unplug the horn have a friend depress the horn button and use a test light to see if you have voltage at the horn.if so replace horn. If not check the fuse if the fuse is blown replace and try again. if the fuse is not blown then check the relay.

• Check the fuse first and if the fuse is good checked the connection of the wire in your horn button and make sure that the negative wire is properly connected.
• After you perform this and still the same check the horn maybe the connection on the horn is not properly connected.

Under your hood there is a box that looks like a fuse box. It contains relays. Replace the one marked horn.

On the steering wheel. There should be little horn symbols on your steering wheel in the center.

I have a 2000 sunfire and mine went out too. just have it replaced with another OEM horn and then it should work fine.
