SOURCE: brake lights stay on all the time

check the brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal and if you have a keyless enter keypad on the door check that for shorts and go through the car and make sure nothing is left on

SOURCE: wipers will not turn off

Your wiper relay contacts are stuck. The wiper relay is located INSIDE the wiper motor assembly. You must replace the entire wiper motor assembly to replace the relay.

You might try rapping on the wiper motor with a small hammer or a screwdriver handle a couple times to see if you can jar it loose.

Extended cab Tahoe truck, 4.3l. Why is brake light on I/P dimly lit?

Possible brake fluid level warning sensor problem in the master cylinder. Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor in the master cylinder. If the light goes out, suspect the sensor. If the light continues to illuminate dimly, suspect a short to power in the harness on that circuit. Further diagnostics will be required to locate the problem

Bar brake light above back door will not go out

If the brake light switch above the pedal was sticking, then all three brake lights would be staying on.
If it is only the axillary third brake light, than that is a bit unusual.
I am trying to image things like current being wired to the lights first and grounding at the switch. Then if the wire from the 3rd light was squashed and shorting, it would then only effect the one light.
But this is unlikely.
I would suggest removing the wires from the brake light switch, to see if it goes out then.

The brake lights dont work and the hatch brake light stays on all of the time

This is just a guess , so please don't give me a bad rating. to me it sounds like the switch on the brake pedal is broken ( stuck on ) so brake lights are on , but have burned up the rear bulbs. Highmount light might be LED so runs cooler and does not burn out. Try new bulbs in the tail lights.

98 Ford Explorer Brake lights not working, top brake light does

I had a similar problem like this with my 98 explorer once; neither brake lights worked and the top one stayed on very dimly at all times. It turns out both of my brake lights went bad at exactly the same time, which for some reason made the top light stay on. Felt like an idiot, but all I needed to do was change the bulbs.
