I have a 1998 jeep wrangler 2.5L. #4 cylinder is misfiring I have checked the spark all good there. Cylinder seems to have godd compression.I changes out the injector just because i had one. No change, still misfiring in #4 cylinder.I guess I better verify that the injector that i put in is working but I'm almost positive that it is. Not sure what's happening. I added an additive to the fuel and then this seemed to start. But I wonder if it was just a coincidence. It's called DEHA an amine it's an oxygen scavenger produces nitrogen and hydrogen. not sure if it is reacting poorly with the gasoline. And for some reason causing #4 cylinder to misfire. Appreciate any help,Steve Hansen

I seem to remember something like that used as an "octane booster" or race fuel additive. I have no idea how it reacts with the pump gas on todays market that is basically chemical soup. It would show up in one of the hottest cylinders though, possibly #4 is the hottest in your engine. You could try pumping as much fuel as you can by attaching a hose to the fuel rail and running the pump, then replacing the fuel. Also...in engines there is no such thing as seems to have compression You check compression with an accurate gauge and determine if compression is correct. You may have good compression, but you need to know that for sure. Same applies to spark and plugs. swap the wire from #4 to another location and see if the miss follows it. check the inside of the cap carefully for tracking to ground or to another contact post.Spark behaves differently in air tahn it does when in a pressurized cylinder.
