Side view mirror moves downward and requires readjustment each day.

Check your fuses and relays, did they all stop working at the same time, any recent work done, accidents, etc.

Mirror itself is defected wears out and won't retract to its original position

These went bad very often but sometimes maybe someone pushed the mirror in by hand putting the complete thread gear in a bind causing to many amps to trying to move the mirror sometimes readjusting the mirror in the opposite directions all 4 by hand pulling slightly on each direction frees up the bind but not always in most cases the motor is damaged during this. But its worth a try.

Is the mirror programmed to the key fob you are using for the vehicle? If you have fob #1 but you have it programmed to your settings under #2, it will change it to the fob it was opened up with. My 05 Chevy did the same thing to me and was driving me crazy. My seat would be all jacked up to. Just try reprogramming settings

Make sure your mirror control switch is slid to the right. If the switch is in the left mirror position, it keeps the right mirror in the upward position when in reverse. When the switch is in right mirror position, it moves the right mirror in the downward position when in reverse. Hope this helps.

if you are talking about side mirrors, and you just had car to car wash, they may have washed em and moved them. try applying moderate pressure to the outside of each mirror, which should realign the gears running the mirrors in and out...

check for places that mice have possibly chewed or been pinched

I researched the maintenance manual. The fuse you need to replace is fuse 20 in the under dash fuse box. It controls side windows, washer motor, rear view dim function, and possible seat memory. There are a couple that link to the mirrors, but this is the one for this problem.
