You will need to take the two bolts out of the strut that connects to the spindle backing plate.this will let the backing plate pull out enough to pull the cv axle out.

How to change cv axles on 2000 nissan maxima 3.0 ltr

Remove the tire, remove the brake caliper, remove the brake caliper bracket, remove the rotor, remove the nut from the CV axle. Remove the nut from the lower ball joint, Use a hammer and hit the lower control arm the get the ball joint to release from the arm. (don't hit the threads) Remove the CV axle from the bearing. ( most likely this will also include hitting from a hammer, Don't mess up the threads). Once you get the axles out of the bearings. Use a pry bar to pop the axles out of the transmission. Reinstall.

How do you remove a front cv axle?

remove the tire, seperate the lower ball joint from the knuckle, remove the axle nut, push the axle out of the hub, use a prybar to gently pop the axe out of the transmission (make sure you have a drain pan under the trans to catch any fluid that may come out). When reinstalling make sure you tighten the axle nut to the proper spec. This will keep your wheel bearing from going bad.

There's no repair to the hub bearing assembly, seal unit, to replace first remove axle nut ( 32 or 36 mm) might need some one to step on brake while removing nut, so it done turn on you, remove front brake caliper and caliper bracket, then remove brake rotor, on back side of hub bearing there three bolt's, remove, hub bearing should slide out, some time with a little help from a hammer, install new hub bearing.

Need instructions on how to change cv axle

ok raise the car and support the car by the BODY PINCH WELDS BEHIND THE FRONT WHEELS
remove the wheel
remove the DRIVE AXLE NUT 1 5/16 i think
remove the ball joint nut 18mm
seperate the ball joint from the steering knuckle
grab the brake caliper and pull to remove the drive axle from the hub bearing i always remove the brake flex line bracket bolt less chance of damaging the brake line
once the drive axle is out of the bearing use a pry bar and pop the other end of the shaft out of the transmission(give the pry bar a quick snap and it should pop right out
that's it remove the old shaft and install the new one and reassemble
hope this helps

Replace lower ball joints on a 2000 chevy blazer 4

Raise vehicle up on jack stands so that the stands are under the lower controll arms and the suspension is "loaded" Remove the front tire(s) (if you break the torque on the nuts while the wheel is still on the ground it helps, but do not loosen them completely as you will be looking for new rims and wheel studs too). Place a drift or some other suitable object in one of the brake rotor vanes so that it will hit the brake caliper and stop the rotor from moving and remove the CV shaft nut (it's a big ****** make sure you have the right socket on hand before getting to this point). Next remove the brake caliper and rotor then undo the wheel bearing retaining bolts and remove the wheel bearing. This should give you enough room to move the axle shaft back and up so you can work on the ball joint. If you've had ball joints replaced before just unbolt the ones that are installed and using a pickle fork, or a block of wood and a hammer, drive the ball joint stud from the knuckle. (make sure to support the upper control arm so it doesn't drop down on you when you do this) If you are working on original ball joints then I reccomend placing a block of wood or something else that will protect the cv boots from drill bits ect and drill out the rivets holding the ball joint in place. then remove in the same manner indicated in the previous paragraph. installation is pretty much the reverse of removal and don't forget to torque your cv shaft nut I have a 1999 and the manual specs 103FTlbs... This is a critical torque as it helps preload your wheel bearing. Too high and you'll burn them up, too low and they'll be loose and wear out.
