Wrong engines. the 1991 never had a 1.8L until 1996.
fact. and dont matter. (unless year is wrong)
1991 answers ONLY!
no matter, the 1991 in the 2 door version (is it?) had a 3speed
transmission, used back in 1970s,, a pure mech. design.
the 4 doors have 4speed that is electronically shifted.

the 3L30 is a relic, and can slip.
id say its bad.
the FSM covers this.
1: both stall tests fail. (sure)
2: you crossfingers for new filter and full flush and fails. sure.
3: you check pump pressure and?????

the on car (in-car) checks are in the FSM.
nice page here.

SOURCE: 1999 cougar automatic transmission is slipping

If the fluid was brown or gray when you changed it, I am afraid you are a little too late and have already sustained internal trans damage.

SOURCE: i have oil in radiator ,transmission slips

Does the oil in the radiator look reddish? likely it does...You most likely have a failure inside the radiator where the trans cooler coil runs through it. Replace radiator and have trans fluid changed and flushed. If slipping continues trans will need a rebuild. (hope not)

SOURCE: transmission oil and filter change

if this is the 92 camry very easy put the car up on ramps or on jack stands set the emergency brake. the transmission pan is the one closest to the driver side of the vehicle start removing the bolts with an 8mm or 10mm socket you want to remove them from one side to the other to allow the pan slant to one side so the fluid does not get everywhere have your drain pan under it to catch the fluid. have fluid has finished draining take pan the rest of the way down and remove filter is is bolted in two or three bolts remove and replace with new one. remove any trash from pan magnet and pan replace gasket and put back together should take about 4 quarts to fill back up put in one at a time and check level

SOURCE: 156,000 mi./automatic transmission slipping/slow to change gears

Nope. There is a drain plug on the transmission case. It is a simple drain and fill. Odyssey transmissions do not have a filter.

SOURCE: my transmission is slipping when accelerating from

The forward clutches are going bad is the most likely problem. To repair the trans should be rebuilt.

Testimonial: "That's what I was afraid of, a total rebuild. "

2001acura cl trans slip third

Honda is known to have issues with the transmission on Acura and Honda Accord with cars build between 1999-2002.
The reason is that those transmissions does not have an internal transmission oil filter built in and as the clutches start to wear down the oil becomes contaminated.
The first step is to make a complete transmission oil change ( DO NOT FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION IT IS A BIG NO ).
Use only Acura ZF1 from Honda, I will strongly recommend to install an external transmission oil filter.

Replaced Actuator and now transmission is slipping

Difficult to say, I would ask, "Why did you change your Actuator" Making Assumptions that there might have been an existing issue before you choose to change or repair the Actuator. But in general no the actuator has no effect on the Transmission slipping, have you done a filter and trans oil change? verify your oil levels...

Location and access to Transmission Filter to change Trans. oil and Filter

Hi Lb,
My car is RX300 1999 and has the same problem. I changed the fluid 2 years ago after the trans slip and lost the shift. Afterwards it worked for another 2 years. But recently it doesn't work again even I change fluid and put Stop Slip additive to the trans. I was told the trans has to be rebuilt. So changing fluid and filter can help to maintain the trans for sure and can prevent problem. But if the trans has already worn a lot, it can't help at last.

Transmission slips in d &od with steam in cab

transmission slipping could be low transmission fluid level or need a transmission fluid and filter change.if transmission fluid was real low check for transmission fluid leaks around transmission oil pan gasket or fluid leaks around cooler lines or torque converter shaft seal. if you getting steam inside cab.your heater core is leaking.if transmission fluid level okay and filter been changed could have faulty over drive switch.

What code is? p0741

CODE PO741 - TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SYSTEM STUCK OFF WHEN THIS CODE COMES UP YOUR TRANSMISION FLUID TOO LOW OR FLUID + FILTER NEED CHANGING YOU HAVE A RESTRICTION IN TRANSMISSION LINES TO RADIATOR CHECK TO MAKE SURE LINES NOT BENT IN ANY WAY.TCC FEED VALVE OR TCC REGULATOR VALVE IS STUCK OFF DUE TO SEDIMENT OR BINDING.THE OIL PRESSURE SCREEN IS CLOGGED OR DEBRIS IN THE OIL PAN.TAKE CAR TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP GOING TO COST YOU.YOU NEED TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND YOU NEED A FILTER AND FLUID CHANGE.ITS NOT CHEAP FIX BUT YOU CAN CHANGE FLUID + FILTER YOUR SELF TO SEE IF IT HELPS BUT BEST TO HAVE SHOP TO FLUSH OUT TORQUE CONVERTER. PUT NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE ENTIRE SYSTEM SOUND LIKE OLD FLUID CONTAMINATED WITH SEDIMENT NEED TO GET IT ALL OUT TRANSMISSION.

Transmission slipping

Did you check the trans oil level. When you changed
the RADIATOR you will loose some trans oil.
If the transmission oil was low when you changed
the radiator it's lower now. Check it now.
Now, if thats not the problem. With that many miles
have you changed the trans oil lately theirs a filter
above the trans oil pan that may be pluged up change
it and the oil. Also, buy a can of trans X it's the only fix
in a can stuff I"LL use.
