My 2001 ford ranger heater blows out cold air, what might be my problem??

If you are sure the engine is getting up to temperature then your problem will be a part called the electrically positioned blend door and or the little motor that moves the blend door. The blend door moves back and forth between the AC core and the heater core to provide a mix of hot and cold air or hot or just cold depending on what you set the air temperature control at, blue being cold and red being hotter. This is all to common a problem on Ford rangers and Explorers which share the same components of the heating and AC systems. When the door fails it is usually on the cold setting position. The kicker here is that you must remove the dash to replace the parts, the blend door and the blend door actuator motor should both be replaced at the same time, the common reason for the motor to fail is a sticking hard to move blend door due to warping of the plastic it is made from.

No heat in cab in ford ranger 2005 tied heater

check if both heater hoses going into firewall are hot.. if only one is hot then your heater core is stopped up..you can take both lines loose and take a water hose and back flush,,, force hose on one inlet of heater core for a minute and then the other.. keep going to you get a good flow...make sure heater valve is open, not just valve position take loose and confirm clear..last make sure your thermostat is not stuck open keeping engine from comming up to temperature

My A/C only blows cold in MAX position. All other positions, both A/C and heater, blow full hot. I also can not control temp via thermostat. Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Check your heater control door and actuator. make sure they are operating properly. The doors are known to break, and the actuators can go bad. The a/c works on max because there is a heater control valve that shuts the coolant flow into the heater core.

Heater control valve leaking 03 ford ranger

let me assume you have a 4 port heater control valve (4 water ports and 1 vacuum line). I have fixed several and they only leak for a short time before the valve completely breaks and you lose all coolant immediately. (not good) The leak is caused by the elbow piece that threads into the control valve. The threads just deteriorate and come apart. this repair is very easy and can be done yourself for under $30 dollars by going to your local auto store and purchasing a new one. Im also going to assume its not a hose you were specific about the valve. I guess if you were in an emergency and needed a quick repair that may or may not work long you could always epoxy or cement the defective piece together but this wouldn't be recommended except in the case that it is (a) not your car and; you dont like the owner:-). I hope this helps
