Question about Cadillac CTS
I have a CTS 2009, sometime ago my Fuel gauge just went dead. After few days engine light (Yellow fan light) showed up. Once you reset the car fuel gauge starts to work and the yellow light disappears. But after 3 or 4 days the same issues comes back. So i am lost what is happening, anyone has any idea ?
I would first try to do a hard reset which means disconnecting your battery for 24 hours, that solves more problems than you would imagine.

If you (hopefully) have the key fob (keyless entry remote), try closing the doors, then lock and unlock using the keyless entry. This should reset the security so the vehicle will start.

sounds like an earth connection ,but where ,,,,back of dash,,,battery earth,,,ECU earth point ,,try putting a drop of oil on the earth points with a conventional oil can no sprays of crappy fish oil other than that you would have to wait for it to happen again in front of a mechinic to find it,.or trade it in for a nice europeon size car with a an engine under 1600cc .5litres is a bit obscene in this day and age and price of petrol

I suggest replacing the O2 sensor(s). These detect the level of carbon monoxide in the exhaust, and at a certain level the exhaust is then returned to the engine to be reburned, then sent back through the exhaust, catalytic converter, then the muffler.
Take the code type to an auto parts dealer, and verify what the code is specifically referring to.
If the engine was idling (running) rough, also repalce the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs<-- find out gap setting; plug wires, distributor cap and rotor (if equipped).
Also, if you haven't recently had the fluids changed, have them changed as well, as the filters for each and the gaskets if needed.
NOTE: if you smell an unusual smell coming from your car; the smell of rotten eggs or such, then your catalytic converter may need replaced.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
