My 1991 mercury tracer will wind up when i try to start it but won't turn over, it's getting fuel but won't start unless i spray in starting fluid where the air filter hose goes in, plus won't run when...

Sounds like you have a weak fuel pump or a bad fuel pump relay which is a cheap test before you change the pump. You may be able to access the fuel pump through the floor under the rear seat so look at that first before you pull the fuel tank out of your car.

Engine turns over, reset pcm and tried starting fluid still won't start

If spraying Starting fluid into the Intake does not start it, then you need to check your Spark, No spark, No Start....

Driving the car and it died going down the road.. i think it might be my fuel pump, but im not sure

Could be a distributor problem; see video above.

The fuel pump should humm for a few seconds when you turn the key to the run position. You can remove the gas cap and listen for the fuel pump to run while someone else turns the key.

If your timing belt breaks then your engine will stop running.

The Master relay has a habit of going bad due to poorly soldered connections.

Car died on road engine turn over but will not start

Try spraying starting fluid into the air intake, with the help of someone else starting the car. As they crank over the car, spray the starting fluid into the air intake. Do this for at least 15 seconds. If the car tries to start up the fuel pump has probably gone bad. When turning the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump humming? If the pump is not humming the fuel pump is probably bad.

Won't start. turning, but won't fire.

If you think its fuel, spray some starter fluid inthe throttle body. If it fires up, you have a fuel problem, otherwise, check your spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Also, check your fuses.

Won't start

When you put in the starter fluid does it continue to run after you stop spraying it in? It sounds like you have either a bad fuel filter or more likely a bad fuel pump.

Car will not start

GO BUY A CHEAP CAN OF STARTING FLUID AT THE STORE AND SPRAY A LITTLE IN THE ENGINE AIR INTAKE , AND TRY IT. IF THE ENGINE STARTS, IT IS ETHER A BAD FUEL PUMP IN THE GAS TANK, OR A STOPPED-UP FUEL FILTER UNDER THE CAR.
