I need a diagram for a 1965 Ford Falcon Ballast resistor. I am having trouble locating it so I can replace it.
Ignition ballast resistor is usually mounted on the firewall near the back of the engine. It's white, rectangular, and has a wire connector on each end. It's function is to limit primary coil current during engine running. The ballast is bypassed during starting so you get a higher spark voltage. If you remove the ballast, you will burn out your coil.
SOURCE: firing order for a 1996 EF ford falcon
EF & EL are 1,5,3,6,2,4
EF has a coil pack under the inlet manifold the EL has a distributor
EF uses a waste spark system so 2 plugs are fired at the same time eg 1 & 6 - 2 & 5 - 3 & 4

It isn't a particularly hard job but there are a few techniques that you need to know.
I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself but I would recommend you do it under supervision of someone who knows their stuff.
Retensioning the bearings correctly is extremely important.
