Its not went into overdrive 5 or 6 times in the last 6 mounth but mostly when cold but today it wouldnt at all i put a tps and air sensor ion the back of the trottle body and fuel filter to thanks
A lot of vehicles will act the same, or even jump in and out of OD , not uncommon due to load on engine and if not running properly has to kick out of overdrive to maintain speed. Is your "check engine" light on, or have you scanned or cycled key to retrieve any trouble codes? You are aware that most parts stores will scan for codes free of charge ?
Ok thanks man now i know my check engine has not came on but i will try to get it scanned have a great day thanks again!!
It just dies when you stop when i give it gas it runs smooth i dont know what it could be
IAC, or AIS motor is well none to be problem when engine stalls under load etc, such as when AC is on, heater, turning etc. Are you familiar with it? I have cleaned them before and cured the problem. It controls engine idle under load and steps it up to overcome the stalling.
Known, not None, sorry
When IAC/AIS acts up, it will not store a code usually.
If your not sure where/what it is, let me know I have a picture.

turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose, make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position, see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.

the other connector on ur throttle body it the idle air motor. that controls the idle of the car.

I had same problem with 99 Durango.
It was an easy and cheap fix -- I went to AutoBeef.com and learned common problem with 98 & 99 Durango -- sounds exactly like your problem. I was encouraged to replace the PCM "Brain" and was advised of an online Refurbished PCM dealer located in Florida. You can google as I forgot the name. I called them and they confirmed an easy fix w only 3 screws to change out the brain. The cost was < $300.00 and my son & bro changed it out. Runs great ever since -- I was so grateful for AutoBeef.com for delievering this information to me. My car would die on me without warning -- totally unreliable and dealer and mechanics had no clue. Your problem sounds like mine -- call the PCM reburbishing company and see what they think.

What engine Mike?
1993 3.9 its only got 98,000 on it if i jump in and go it does every time
i replaced the tpi and the air thing on the backof the trottle body and new fuel filter if i give it gas its fine every time it does it it wont go into overdrive thank man
when i slow down it wants to die
check engine light never comes on
The other thing you refer to is IAC, or AIS motor? (Automatic idle speed ) for increasing idle speed under load conditions etc. Idle air control, same thing.
If idle speed motor was done and cleaned port it came out of well with throttlbody cleaner, I would next test my coolant temperature sensor. Remove clip, connector from sensor and test ohms at terminals on sensor. Engine cold, below 90F should read between 500-1100 ohms. Engine warmed up to normal operating temperaturem should read over 1300 ohms. If not, replace it. Drain coolant down a bit to allow for removal of sensor . Let us/me know how youo make out.
Ok thanks man one more thing where is the ais motor
