Won't crank? Problem is with starter-have it tested.
If it cranks and won't start, check for spark at one of the spark plug wires. If no spark when the engine is cranking, the ignition circuit is the problem.

SOURCE: 1991 ford f-150 fuel pump will not come on

remember the switch only gets power for 1 second when u turn the key on, the common problem is the ignition starter switch comes apart, it is located at top of the steering column near the bottom, drop the column down (2 nuts) and inspect the switch for separation.

SOURCE: E.E.C fuse keeps blowing in 1991 Ford Explorer

if you replaced fuel pump i would look at backward wiring when replaced and i would start at the source of work if your vehicle was working fine before replacement then 9 out of 10 it will be your fuel pump wireing

sometimes when putting wireing back together the connectors have the missing clip and in turn you can turn the wireing in both directions now where positive is touching the ground on both sides of connector kris kross problem check your work this is crucial use a test light to find the right wires where they go

SOURCE: replace fuel pump

Fuel injection motors have in the tank fuel pump and screen .Access from under back seat, fold forward and move carpet forward after popping out plastic carpet retainer plugs.move floor plate, phillips screwdriver ,no need to unplug electric.remove gas hose, tuck forward out of way.unplug electric plug and remove screws from top of tank and gently pull up and tilt toward gas tank filler so that the gas gauge float and rod is not ruined.the plastic pickup screen will need to be folded to get out of tank.removing the float controll with small nuts is a good idea. the pump has a screw in the bottom that probably needs a vise grip if the phillips head rounds out. everthing is slip apart from this point.pay attention to plastic over the intake nipple and rubber o ring and piece up in the intake line.ebay has reasonable pumps.look at pictures and see the screen and plastic parts that you may need.the rubber on bottom of pump may need to be trimmed because of groove channel may have metal insert in your new pump. unless new one is with new pump.kind of tricky to put back together.but is do able .

Where is the fuel pump relay switch on a 1988 Ford Crown Victoria 5.0

The computer controls the injection of the fuel. If you look at the wiring diagram you will note the bottom 4 pins that are the negative and positive to the left and right injection. Atleast on my 1991 it is .Could be the ecm or computer is sending a false signal or not sending one at all. A sign of this is the fuel pump in the gas tank can be heard and will continue to run as if pressure in the fuel system is not building. Tthe truck want crank as if no fuel. When starter fluid is injected into the Throttle body the egine will start and run untill fluid is used up. It will keep running as long as fluid is added.

1991 f-159 4.9l cranks but won't start fuel pumps in both tanks loud

fuel pump should only run for about 15 seconds when u first turn the key on now you should check to see if the fuel filter is clogged or your sending unit might be bad on the fuel pump itself

1990 ford festiva no power to fuel pump. replaced relays , fuel pump, checked safety shutoff. nothing .. ran hot wire to fuel pump and pump worked but car still not trying to start. got spark. now what

The pump should have a fuse in the fuse block. You need to check for power in the fuse block and you need to check power to the pump relay.

Sometimes there is a fusible link to the Relay. If you check the connector terminals for power where the Relay plugs in, you can determine if the fusible link has blown. You could have already replaced the bad parts and now need to restore power to the Relay.
