If the engine will not crank in park or neutral, you may be able to jumper the brown pink and the tan red wires at the switch. I would not jumper them with the switch connected in the circuit. I am assuming you have already checked the starter relay.
Hello! If it starts every time the Shift Lever is placed in Neutral the Park/Neutral switch is defective and needs to be replaced...Wire colors are Pink and Light/Green,,,See diagrams...Guru...Saailer
it sounds like the linkage came loose or needs to be adjusted, the car is not going all the way into park, this put the nuetral safty swith in the open spot which will not allow car to start,
1st check your shifter linkage-does the indication coincide with your gear recognition display in instrument cluster? most liley if it is not the linkage the gear recognition swith inside your shift box is defective-usually they get soda or coffee spelled on them and malfution. I would recomend having you car scanned for codes.
Is the steering wheel turned? If so this would cause the shifter to stay in Park and not come out. Turn wheel as far as it will go and turn key on put foot on brake and tire. If not the neutral park swith on trans might be bad.
