Toyota corolla drivers door not locking/ unlocking with key

The key will not turn in driver's door lock. the passenger door works and the central locking button inside driver's door works. Just not the key/ key hole. I had an exact same problem with a previous toyota but i sold it without fixing. How can i fix this?

Check the connector inside the door, whether is broken or not

SOURCE: 2006 Toyota Corolla. The driver's door won't work with remote.

the actuator might have been disconnected from the lock, its attached inside the door, with a metal rod that clips into the actuator, check it out, might be a easy fix, good luck and god bless, please rate me!

SOURCE: central locking not locking all locks from drivers

You will need to replace the driver door switch. You can try to pick a switch up from the dealer or a local car wrecker (i.e. Pick-n-Pull). It will involve learning to take apart the door trim panel.

SOURCE: 1994 Toyota Corolla front passenger side door will not unlock. I can not pull the door locking tab up. I try the central door lock/unlock button and all the doors will lock /unlock except the front

DONT PULL THE lock / unlock button/tab TOO HARD. It will damage further.
Internal linkage/mechanism is not working... Get it repaired by mechanic.

I lost remote to my 2007 corolla how do i get a new one if i am not the original buyer

go to any Toyota dealer. They will sell you a new key fob but they also charge extra for programming. Total cost for the key fob and programming will be around $100. any Toyota dealer can do it for you

Door locks unlocks

Sounds like the main wiring loom into the door has been damaged.
Check near the hinges, where the door swings, to see if any damaged wires. Does the door lock and unlock from the drivers side switch?

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

I can't unlock my 2003 kia rio with the key, and when I unlock it from the inside it relocks itself before I can open the door

Hello,
Just had the same problem and know it is fixed.
You may have worked out that you can use the fob to unlock and then immediately lift the passenger handle to get access- not ideal.
In my case I couldn't turn the key in the drivers door either
1, Remove the 25 AMP fuse for door locking from fuse box under the bonnet. This disables central locking. The passenger door opens fine. The key however won't turn in drivers door.
2, Spray WD40 or other moisture repellent protective lubricant on key. Insert into drivers lock- gently turn back and forth. Half remove key so you can spray more WD40 into lock- a good blast will do. Keep gently turning until you can lock and unlock.
3, Replace 25 amp fuse
4, Hopefully job done- worked for me

Our key stopped opening the driver's side door of our Toyota Corolla about two days ago. The key was able to be inserted into the lock, but would not turn. Since entrance to the vehicle was still possible...

Put light-weight oil on the key to lubricate the lock cylinder tumblers. ... Use cooking oil if nothing else available. Put the oil on the key and work the lock.
Wipe the keys when the locks start working.
The locks use "graphite" for lubrication. You can grind up pencil lead and use as a lock lubricant .... messy.

1998 Toyota Corolla Electric Door Lock Problem

You'll need to replace the solenoid (motor) that doesn't work. Not hard once you get the door panel off. I suggest you buy the correct part, not a universal one.
