You need key in and in on position to remove barrel while pressing in lock pin (in hole) in column if cant get key in or turn drill out barrel with under sized drill bit and slowly go up in drill bit size until you can dig out and remove barrel, lock smiths can come to site and do these type of repairs if needed.

I have a daewoo lanos i have a new key does it need coding to the car?

if there is a computer chip in the original key you will only be able to get a new one from the dealer, if the new key you have turns over the engine ,but it won't start then you need a dealer key. Only try to start the car with the new key once though if you try it too many times the car will shut down and the dealer will have to reset your computer for you to be able to drive the car.

I snapped key in bad weather have daewoo lanos

snapped key into what lock cylinder or ignition switch or do you have both ends of the key itself or not ?

if you have one end stuck in either lock / ignition cylinder you can try using a welders torch cleaning tip kit it contains many various sized brushes and files etc which will allow you to get in beside the broken end of the key and wiggle it out .,,,any parts store should have them ...

Check your key immobilizer, i had a similar problem with my Lanos.
If you turn the key and your red light keeps flashing in the centre console your imobilizer is not turning off.

Door and Boot Locks

the problem lies in the drivers side operating switch for the central locking .this would involve removing the drivers side door handle and checking the switch mechanism thats built into the lock, havent done one o n this model only a opel astra ---but they are different from the opel although the car looks the same ,well similar pull it off have a go ,the key barrel must turn something so look for an internal switching or external switching and see if the spring is ok that returns the switch
