I just replaced my blown sub in my Avalon xls with a Kicker 07C84 and it works great. For the same price of a repair kit, you can just buy this new speaker. Why go through the hassle of repairing a 9 year old speaker. This speaker fits into the same cutout of the old speaker. All I did was splice the red and black wires within the factory plastic housing so I could still use the factory connector.
Www.SimplySpeakers.com sells an easy to install repair kit for around $25 or they repair the 86160 speaker for $40 plus return UPS shipping. Much cheaper than Toyota's price of around $300.

I had the same blown speaker and was not able to find a suitable replacement other than the factory replacement which is way too expensive. I had my original one repaired locally by Speaker Works in Tulsa OK. 2 days and $45 later it works great, that was two years ago. Maybe you have this type of repair shop where you are. Getting the speaker in and out was a bit of a challenge but it can be done.
Whatts is the amount of power output the speaker has in your case a max rating of 25 wats at 3.7 ohms of resistance threw the speaker coil. Some speaker's have a higher rating for instance 4 ohms at 25 watts or 8 ohms at 25 watts, all you have to do is get a speaker close to the 3.7 ohms and rated at least 25 watts or more, this will insure close to same sound performance on the speaker. And won't harm the amp or stereo system, so if you found a 4 ohm speaker at 50 watts it would be ok and iff you could find a 100 watts at 4 ohms it would still be ok. it is withing range of the amp plus or minus .3 ohms.
I paid $100 to a place called Winston Electronics to remove, repair, and replace the JBL woofer on my 2001 Avalon XLS. It was twice as expensive as to take it out and put it back in myself, but I'm not handy like that, and might have messed something up.
