Passock Issue I was driving home from work, and just before I get home I have to stop at a 4 way stop. When I hit the brakes and came to a complete stop, the passlock light came on as well as "SERVICE VEHICLE". The rest of the way home I didn't experience any issues. Also, as soon as I was home I shut off the car, restarted it, and the issue was gone. Any clue what this could be? Perhaps a glitch in the system? If it comes on again maybe I will take it to a mechanic while the issue is on before I turn the car off. Any suggestions would be well appreciated!

It sounds like the TCC solenoid malfunctioned. The Torque Converter Clutch solenoid is a small electrical switch in the valve body of your transmission that controls the amount of "lock-up" on the torque converter. It sounds disasterous, but its actually an easy fix, and does not require removal of the transmission.

Probably something shorting out. This is something that probably isn't going to be easy to figure out. You need someone that can diagnose it in person

SOURCE: 2007 Saturn Vue AWD starts but won't shift to drive/reverse

Disconnect the battery and reconnect.
This should clear the computer memory.
This may cure the problem.
Suspect extreme cold primary cause in transmission?
Good Luck !

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.

SOURCE: 99 saturn sl2 has lost reverse

Reverse & 2nd gear share the same clutch pack.Usually when reverse goes out you will get wierd shifting into 2nd or 3rd.Most likey the Input shaft retaining nut has come loose inside the first clutch housing. It can be accessed from the trans end cover but it will take some disassembly. The trans doesn't have to come out to correct this problem.I repaired many saturns with this problem. The only parts you will have to buy is an end cover gasket(paper gasket) & 41/2 qts Trans fluid.Decent mechanice could do this in about 2-3 hrs or less. The service engine light is probally on due to trouble codes from the trans controller most likey DTC P0723 No 2nd gear.hope this helps

Saturn Ion Passlock & Service Engine

I would check the brake fluid for one. And if any brake work was done in the near past. Might have air in the lines, so bleed the brake system.

this is an indication of front end wear in tie rod ends and suspension parts . What you describe is castor wobble and comes from suspension faults and incorrect wheel alignment. have it all checked out in an accredited suspension/ wheel alignment shop

92 chevy c1500 shakes when braking or hits a bump

Thats called a shimmy. And you have shocks instead of struts.
Chances are you have a ball joint or tie rod end about to fail. Something is very loose in the front steering or suspension. I'd put money on it being a ball joint.

Had same issue today: as soon as I'd hit a stop sign or just stop it would go like it was on Neutral even though it was in Drive... I though it was the whole transsmition and was resigned to change it completely ($$$) but I took it to an honest mechanic and told me that the 1997 escorts need to be checked on with the hand brake and on Drive (make sure the brake is all the way up) it was missing like almost 1.5 ltrs of Trans. fluid =/ told me to add 1 ltr and to see if it'd stop... it did =D spent not 10 dlrs fixing it... ohh but my transmission fluid was pink going a lil brown sorry to say, you should have it changed along with the filter

You must have ripped the wires off underneath your truck, and you probably don't have brake lights anymore either. Better get somebody to repair it as soon as you can.
