There could be two problems here:
1. That buoy floating tank is not working properly
2. That the electrical system that fails to submit the dashboard.

Sometimes my gas gage works on my 1996 jeep cherokee laredo and most of the time it doesn't. I also can not roll up the back window on the passenger side. Help Please

The master switch is the most likely cause for the window problem, and the fuel gauge is most likely the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank

Similar to mezouii, my jeep grand cherokee laredo runs out of gas quite often and sooner than it should. the gas gage is broken but i time the mileage after i gas up and i should be able to go twice as far...

sounds like somone has a garden hose in your tank personaly i would check the fuel tank ground
it is likely the reason your gage doesnt work
once gage works you can properly monitor fuel use

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start. When

Check your fuel pump ,fuel lines,.One of the most overlooked starting causes is fuel delivery. Find the fuel rail to the injectors. Assuming you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, remove the dust cap on the fitting on the fuel rail and press the center pin in the valve to see if there's a good amount of pressure for a very brief second. There will be no continuous pressure unless the engine is running or is being cranked over. Have somebody crank it for you for a second to see if high pressure is present.

If not, first look at the fuel cutoff switch usually located in the inside stowage compartment of the vehicle. See if the reset button clicks when you press it. Next check the fuel pump fuse and relay, and finally the pump itself could be bad.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee gas gauge reads empty but tank is full.

Fuel level sending units are known to go bad on these.

Full tank-fuel gague registers empty-need fuel light is on

There is a sending unit in the fuel tank that registers how much fuel there is. It is probably broken, giving you a funny reading on your gauge.
