Place the trolley jack under the front cross member . (The big bit that connects the side frames under the sump). Lift as high as possible and place the jack stands under the chassis ( moulded rails ) where the sub-frame meets . Then place the trolley jack under the rear diff and lift as high as possible Place the jack stands under the chassis at the front of the springs or track rods By using these positions you will have the cabin securely jacked up with all the wheels free to remove or to work on. Before going under try rocking the vehicle hard to ensure that it will not move off the stands.

SOURCE: 2002 lincoln ls engine light

These cars are famous for leaky seals where the valve cover interfaces with the cylinder head, at the spark plug journals. They fill with oil, short the coils and cause a misfire. Driving it any significant distance can destroy your catalytic converters ad unburnt fuel ignites therein, creating inferno-like conditions and a fire hazard too. You'll get a "300 code", such as 301 if cylinder 1 is misfiring, 302 for # 2, etc. Pull the coil off the spark plug for that cylinder and if it is moist at all, that's your issue. Have new seals put in, or you'll just keep blowing coils at $50 a whack.

SOURCE: WHERE TO PUT FREON IN A 2001 LINCOLN LS

The Low side Connector port is located on the A/C compressor itself. This is on the bottom of driver's side of engine. You must jack up car and remove access panel behind aluminum wishbone of a arm.

I need an engune diagram for a 2001 Chrysler Toen & Country...need to know where the starter is located for replacement!

Rear of the engine under the van at the connection of the engine to the transmission bell housing. You must raise the van with a floor jack and support it on jack stands to access the starter motor, you can't do it from up top. NEVER WORK WITHOUT JACK STANDS SUPPORTING THE VEHICLE, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE!

Jacking points on all Jeep vehicles

c17hydro_1.gif

Your Jeep was supplied with a jack for emergency road repairs. This jack is fine for changing a flat tire or other short-term procedures not requiring you to go beneath the vehicle. Do not attempt to use the jack on any portions of the vehicle other than specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Always block the diagonally opposite wheel when using a jack.

Placing a floor jack under the front frame rail

Placing a floor jack under the rear frame rail at the leaf spring shackle. It may be necessary to place a block of wood between the frame rail and the jack

c17hydro_4.gif

Supporting the front of the vehicle with jack stands placed under each frame rail

A more convenient way of jacking is the use of a garage or floor jack. You may use the floor jack at the specified points in following the illustrations.

Never place the jack under the radiator, engine or transmission components. Severe and expensive damage will result when the jack is raised. Additionally, never jack under the floorpan or bodywork; the metal will deform

Since my 2001 Lincoln LS (v6) does NOT have a transfill tube...

You have NO reason to top off ANY fluids,if you think about it. If you had a leak, you would repair it. Fluids don't get consumed. You can do whatever you want,it is your vehicle. On the LS and most fords the instructions are on the bottom of the trans oil pan. The fill,is the plug on the tail housing. You have,to have the correct filler container and a compressor,to blow it in, or make up one. Mercon V -on the fluid. You have to put the car on 4 jack stands,to get under it, and better know where to support it. I have a 2004 LS and it isn't very easy to work on. I assume you have issues,or the trans shop wouldn't have been mentioned. The solenoid trans pack, fail on these, as well as the TPS,EGR,and many Ignition coils. Change/flush the Power Steering Fluid. Regular Mercon, not V. Don't forget the Cabin Filter, under the plastic wiper cowl cover, pass side. Gas filter behind driver side wheel well, plastic cover, remove tire first. Push on release with fingers, don't pry up with screw driver?

Shifts hard from park to drive

Sounds like your motor mounts. Have an assistant HOLD the brakes, put the car in REVERSE still HOLDING the brakes, STANDING (you) on the side of the car, have the assistant rev the engine and see how far the engine raises. Do the same with the car in DRIVE.

I need the location of the low pressure ac port 2001 lincoln ls v8

The lincoln better idea engineers put the low side freon port in a peculiar place.. You will find the low pressure port near the compressor under the car on the driver's side. You will need to put your car on a lift to get to it. Once you raise your vehicle, take the plastic shields off and you will find the compressor...yup...it's a tight spot.
Hope i was able to answer your question...be safe.
