Transmission squeals when changing gears.

When accelerating hard I hear a squealing noise coming from the transmission. Also seems to be slipping. If I back off the throttle a little it will stop.

Check the fluid to see if the radiator oil cooler is bad &
ruined the trans

VERY VERY Common & WELL Known problem with pathfinder
& frontiers from 04 to 08

You may need a new radiator, bypass the trans cooler lines to it
& go to the front cooler only, then rebuild the trans

There are at least 8 updates to do to the valve body alone

Check Sonnax.Com for that

There is more info on all that on the internet, than you could read
in an evening & NO Nissan is out of the picture.

It is up to you to educate yourself before & during ownership
of any & all vehicles & check for govt recalls,it's all there
on the web

SOURCE: loud squealing noise

Probably a belt getting loose or worn. If alternator has a separate one than the rest, try just tightening it up. My guess is that it's probably all one belt with a tensioner pulley, which means you can't tighten, (spring tension already applied by tensioner) you have to change the belt, to get rid of noise, and if noise comes back in short time, think about changing tensioner.

SOURCE: 99 Altima with 190k miles warbling noise

It sounds like your water pump is going it usually vibrates throughout everything if it was your alternator it would show signs with your power the easiest way would to take your belt off remembering the belt route and spin the alternator pulley and the water pump pulley to see if they spin freely without noise

Hi Have you replaced the clutch plate? I believe the plate is worn and needs to be replaced and the throw bearing as well. Good luck.

1999 dodge durango 5.9 v8 loud squealing noise from under hood replaced tenison pulley, idler pulley, ac pulley/clutch assembley, and belt please help

You didn't mention the alternator, power steering pump, or water pump. In fact, any pulley other than the crankshaft one can have a bad bearing or dry seal. Remove the belt and spin each pulley while listening for any rough noise or squeal. If it was the crankshaft, it might be time to check the oil. Start the engine with the belt off to see if it does squeal. Make sure the noise isn't coming from the radiator fan(s).

Car makes a high-pitched squealing noise only while it is in lowest gear then stops once it gets up to 2nd or 3rd gear.

Check the belts for slippage and wear. If the tension is not correct, the belts will slip and create a "squealing" noise...moreso at higher rpms or on acceleration as you mentioned....That is the most common cause for a "squeel". I would check that first.
Good luck...i hope this helps fixya up.

Loud squealing sound in my engine

Try removing the belt and turning each pulley by hand. If everything is smooth and free, with the belt still off, drive down the block once and see if the noise is there (this will eliminate all rotating accessories on the front). If you hear the noise, then there is a problem deeper inside. Oil pressure is good? Dont' forget when doing this, you will have no power steering, so be careful.

2000 VW Jetta squealing when shifting from 2-3rd and hard shift down when going up hill

hi if its just second to thrid then the clutch is slipping on thrid gear look at the boxes oil level is important but look at the colour is it red and tranperant as this is ok if its brown its a sign of the clutches slipping i would try a stall test on thrid gear first and if its ok second gear [manually] see is the engine stalls at the correct rpm if you thinkabout it imagine you are in thrid gear in a manuual box and suddenly drop into second it would be hard shifting it could also be a faulty thrid gear solenoid yates210456
