Truck cuts off while driving down the road.

1993 ford f150 4x4 cuts off while driving down the road. no warnings no surges, no indicators. Then it won't crank until truck cools off. Motor winds and runs battery down until it gets cool then fires up. Usually does this after driving about 15 to 20 miles and the engine heats up.already changed fuel filter, fuel pumps are both ok, replaced ignition module.

Replace the TFI module. Ford back in 1986 thur 1993 had problems like the one you wrote about. TFI module gets hot and shuts car or truck off then when it cools sometmies starts and sometimes not.

Truck surging

Surge usually means its getting extra air (VACUUM) from somewhere, usually a vacuum hose has come loose or developed a hole or crack letting extra air into the engine.

you went down a pathm but unfortunatley a dead end, was the cat. converter noisy, like loose pebbles....just curious......anyhow, it could either be a fuel starvation problem or electrical cut-out caused by tune-up, im not sure whether you service the car on a regular basis, but based on the age of the vehicle, certain inherent problems are going to occur, and tender loving care will be required

i hope this helps

INTERMITENT STALLING AT SPEEDS OF 50 TO 75 MPH on my '95 FORD EXPLORER XLT 4.0 LITER 6 CYLINDER there is no sputtering or any indication prior to the stalling to let me know its going to stall. I'm just on...

Have you checked your fuel filter or fuel pump as these can cause your engine to to shut off, but there usually is some sort of warning, but not always.

1993 Ford Explorer (5 Speed) randomly cuts off while driving

If you replace your power steering pump has noting to do if your car die
if you have a problem whit your power steering system the only symptom you will have is a real hard steering wheel.

if your car randomly die may be a false contact on your crankshaft position sensor.

is located next to the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer)
tray unplugging it and cleaning the terminals whit electrical contact cleaner (sale on auto part stores) and if is to rusty you may have to change the sensor or the wire plug.

NOTE is CRANKSHAFT sensor not Camshaft they sound a like.

it may be a good idea to get you car scanned for trouble codes
most auto part stores do it at no charge.
